Track and field is a sport which includes athletic contests established on the
skills of running, jumping, and throwing. The name is derived from the
sport's typical venue: a stadium with an oval running track enclosing a grass
field where the throwing and jumping events take place. It is one of the oldest
sports. In ancient times, it was an event held in conjunction with festivals and
sports meets such as the Ancient Olympic Games in Greece.
The running events, which include sprints, middle and long-distance
events, race walking and hurdling, are won by the athlete with the fastest
time. The jumping and throwing events are won by the athlete who achieves
the greatest distance or height. Regular jumping events include long
jump, triple jump, high jump and pole vault, while the most common throw-
ing events are shot put, weight, javelin, discus and hammer distance, and long
distance events.
A Fronton is a two-walled or single-walled court used as a playing area
for Basque pelota.
A fronton is made up of a rectangular floor and three vertical walls,
named frontis; the front wall is the main one, where the hits are directed
according to the rules. That wall has a line at a determined height
named Bajo Chapa (Lower Zone). Perpendicular to the front wall is at-
tached another longer wall, with marks for the distance to the main wall.
The number of marks depends on the type of fronton used. Perpendicu-
lar to the side wall is the back wall. The height of the three walls must be
the same for professional courts. Often, in common rural open-air courts,
the place where the back wall should be is delimited by a line on the
floor. A free wall sideline is delimited to make watching the game easier
for an audience or other players. In every kind of fronton, the sidelines
are 4.5 m apart.
Badminton is a racquet sport played using racquets to hit
a shuttlecock across a net. Although it may be played with larger teams,
the most common forms of the game are "singles" (with one player per
side) and "doubles" (with two players per side). Badminton is often
played as a casual outdoor activity in a yard or on a beach; formal games
are played on a rectangular indoor court. Points are scored by striking
the shuttlecock with the racquet and landing it within the opposing side's
half of the court.
Each side may only strike the shuttlecock once before it passes over the
net. Play ends once the shuttlecock has struck the floor or if a fault has
been called by the umpire, service judge, or (in their absence) the oppos-
ing side.

Wardell Stephen "Steph" Curry II (born
March 14, 1988) is an American profes-
sional basketball player for the Golden State
Warriors of the National Basketball Associa-
tion (NBA).
Many basketball players have called him the
greatest shooter in NBA history.
In 2015, Curry won the NBA Most Valuable
Player Award and led the Warriors to their
first championship since 1975. In 2016, he
led his team to the most wins in an NBA sea-
son.
Curry is the son of former NBA
player Dell and older brother of current NBA
player Seth. He played college basket-
ball for Davidson.
There, he was twice named Southern Con-
ference Player of the Year and set the all-
time scoring record for both Davidson and
the Southern Conference. During his sopho-
more year, he also set the single-
season NCAA record for three-pointers
made.
Michael Fred Phelps II (born June 30,
1985)is an American competi-

Olympian of all time, with a total of 22

Phelps also holds the all-time records for
Olympic gold medals (18, double the sec-
ond highest record holders), Olympic gold
medals in individual events (11),
and Olympic medals in individual events
for a male (13).
In winning eight gold medals at the 2008
Beijing Games, Phelps took the record
away from fellow swimmer Mark
Spitz (7) for the most first-place finishes
at any single Olympic Games.
Five of those victories were in individual
events, tying the single Games record. In
the 2012 Summer Olympics in London,
Phelps won four golds and two silver
medals, making him the most success-
ful athlete of the Games for the third
Olympics in a row.
La Selecta is the Nickname of the El Salvador’s National Football Team.
El Salvador has made two FIFA World Cup appearances: first in 1970 and again
in 1982, but have never progressed beyond the first stage of a finals tournament.
They were the 1943 CCCF champions, and finished in second-place in
the 1941 and 1961 championships.
They have competed in the CONCACAF regional tournaments fourteen times, fin-
ishing as runners-up in 1963 and 1981.
La Selecta also competes in the biennial UNCAF Nations Cup, the Pan American
Games, the Olympics, and have achieved two gold medals in the Central Ameri-
can and Caribbean Games.
The national team had accusations of several players purposely losing matches
on purpose in exchange for monetary rewards. Some of these allegations in-
volved games against Venezuela, Mexico, USA, and Costa Rica. After an investiga-
tion, 14 players were handed immediate lifetime bans from football on Septem-
ber 20, 2013. Those players were Luis Anaya, Osael Romero, Ramón
Sánchez, Christian Castillo, Miguel Granadino, Miguel Montes, Dagoberto
Portillo, Dennis Alas, Darwin Bonilla, Ramón Flores, Alfredo Pacheco, José Mardo-
queo Henróquez, Marvin González, and Reynaldo Hernández. Carlos Monteagudo
received a ban of 18 months. Eliseo Quintanilla and Victor Turcíos received 6
month bans. Alexander Escobar, Christian Sánchez, and U-20 goalkeeper Yimmy
Cuellar received a ban of 30 days. Other players were forced to go through the
investigation for 20 more days. After the 20 day investigation, Rodrigo Martinez
was sentenced to a ban of 5 years, Rodolfo Zelaya to a ban of one year, and Benji
Villalobos to a ban of 6 months.
My point of view on Selecta
I think the Salvadorian football player is a very skillful and has a great potential to
be an excellent football player , however it lacks the discipline and abilities that a
professional athlete should have.
We can see that the physical condition is poor , because “La Selecta” usually plays
a very slow football compared to other teams such as Costa Rica and Mexico.
Also the local teams are not competitive enough to produce excellent football
players that can be in the Selecta , most of the local football clubs have older and
really bad foreigner players , so there is small opportunities for the talented young
Salvadorian players
Also the people responsible of developing the football should care more about
looking new talents and also inspire the fans with affordable football ticket
matches and more friendly games against competitive teams in the continent
Football is about passion and the love of the game , but the board of directors at
the Fesfut seems that they only care bout how much profit they can get using the
Selecta .
The fans are very smart and they like to see good football , that’s is why we can
see many supporters of foreign football clubs such as Barcelona and Real Madrid .
We need to have an identity of football and this starts on each community , and
that is why is so important to keep developing the football into the communities
and inspire a new generation that can bring back a good Selecta such as the ones
in the 70s , 80s and 90s
Salvadorians have a great passion about sports , the most popular is football .
However now we can see that many people is interested in new sports that not
long time ago were not so famous in the country , sports such as rugby , Ameri-
can football and skating are some of the examples
I believe the future of sports of El Salvador is very promising , but is very impor-
tant that the authorities encourage and give resources to the future genera-
tions , and also keep a safe environment in the communities
Another important part of develop sports is with education.
The schools need to give more interest into their physical education programs , be-
cause , kids can learn about how to be competitive , learn to win or lose , disci-
pline , team work and many more abilities that with help them in the future
In order to keep a bright fu-
ture in sports , then we need
to give more resources to the
different competitions that
can help to find new talent ,
for example the CODICADER
and the competitions between
school teams
The government need to pro-
mote and give financial re-
sources into the sports , spe-
cially in schools
