2. Draw a diagonal line from corner to corner on the wrong side of the 3" C1820 Dove squares. Place one marked square on the top left corner of one 81/2" C4763 Jade square, right sides together and noting the line direction. Sew on the marked line from the upper right corner to the lower left corner. (figure 2) Flip open the triangle formed and press. (figure 3) Trim away the excess fabric from behind the triangle 1/4" away from the sewn seam.

second strip. Noting the orientation, sew one strip to each side of the Center Block.

11. Sew one Block One, one Block Three, one Block Two, one Block Three and one Block One together in that order. Sew this strip to the top of the Center Block.

12. Sew three Block Three and two Block One together, alternately. Sew this strip to the bottom of the Center Block.

13. Sew one 11/2" x 641/2" C1820 Citron strip to each side of the Center Block. Sew one 11/2" x 421/2" C1820 Citron strip to the top and the other to the bottom of the Center Block to make the quilt top.

14. Noting the orientation, center one 61/2" x 82" C4761 Multi strip on one side of the quilt top and pin in place. Start sewing the strip 1/4" from the top edge of the quilt top and stop 1/4" from the bottom edge. DO NOT TRIM THE EXCESS. Repeat with the opposite side.

15. Repeat step 14 to sew one 61/2" x 58" C4761 Multi strip to the top and the other to the bottom of the quilt top, making sure to stop and start 1/4" away from each end of the quilt top. To miter the borders, fold one corner of the quilt on a 45° angle so that the border strips are directly on top of one another

and the seams nest together. Place your rotary ruler on the fold of the quilt so that the long edge is against the fold and the 45° line is on the side seam. Draw a line from the corner of the quilt top to the outside edge of the border. Pin the borders together. (figure 11)

Finishing16. Layer the quilt top, batting and backing and quilt

as desired.

17. Stitch the binding strips together end to end using diagonal seams. Fold and press the resulting long strip in half lengthwise with wrong sides together. Stitch to the quilt front, matching raw edges and mitering the corners.

18. Fold the binding to the quilt underside and hand-stitch the folded edge to the quilt back.
