Prepare the Engine

1. Turn off vehicle and set parking brake. Disconnectnegative terminal from battery and isolate it from allmetal surfaces. To prevent accidental shock, cover terminal with a non-conducting material.

2. Remove air cleaner to allow easier access.

3. Remove plastic battery hold-down strap by unscrewing the two bolts. Retain bolts for reuse.

4. Remove steel plug in the middle turbo return point on side of the engine block.

You may use either of these options:

a. Use a seal puller or drill a hole and then thread ascrew into plug to pull it out, or

b. Use a small chisel to hit one side of plug to turn itinside of the boss. Once turned, use pliers toremove it. If you need to pry out plug, use a piece ofwood or similar substance between the tool and theengine block to prevent damage to block.

Caution! DO NOT LET THE PLUG FALL INTO THE ENGINE.

5. Disconnect oil feed line to the turbo at the oil filterhead and remove adapter fitting. Leave the line connected to the turbo inlet. You will reuse this part.

You are now ready to install the centrifuge kit.

Prepare the Centrifuge

6. If centrifuge is already mounted to the bracket, proceed to step 7.

a. Otherwise, remove cover ofcentrifuge usinga 13 mm wrenchor socket.

b. Remove turbineassembly fromspindle by liftingstraight up.

c. Place centrifugebase gasketover thebracket’s fourthreaded studs.

d. Align four boltholes in centrifugebase to threadedstuds on mountingbracket so that inlet port isapproximately 45° from center.

e. Attach centrifugeto mountingbracket using thesupplied hardware(4 flat washers and4 nylock nuts).Tighten nuts to 15inch pounds.

Caution! Over-tightening of hardware can causethreaded studs to be pulled off of the mountingbracket.

f. Reassemble centrifuge by placing turbine assemblyback onto the spindle and then replacing cover. Make sure black cover seal is present.

Install the Centrifuge

7. Install O-ring inlet fitting into centrifugeinlet port. Do not use thread sealant.

8. Install 45-degree outlet fitting into the bottom of thecentrifuge mounting bracket. This part will requirethread sealant. Use a commercially available “liquid”thread sealant. Do not use any type of tape (such asTeflon tape). Tighten and position fitting so that itpoints toward plug opening (See Step #4).

9. Lubricate O-ring with engine oil and place onto return fitting that attaches to engine block. Insert fitting into boss opened in Step #4.

Make sure fitting is fully seated intoblock (this may take some force). To avoid damage to fitting, use a rubber hammer and/or place woodblock on fitting when striking. Fitting must not beloose or be able to rotate.

10. Fit centrifuge assembly to battery using battery hold-down strap. Re-use bolts from Step #3.

The cutout square on the battery hold-down strap sitsclosest to the engine. The plastic buffer sits on top ofthe battery between the battery and the metal part of the battery hold-down strap. The square cut out ispositioned over tube on back of centrifuge mountingbracket. The bolt passes through the assembly, fastening it to battery tray.

Connect the Oil Inlet Line

11. Insert tee fitting into top of the oil filter head. Do notuse a thread sealant.

Caution! Do not over-tighten. This fitting is steel andthe oil filter head is aluminum. Over-tightening willcause damage to the oil filter head. Fitting has a nut that will seal the fluid. Position fitting as shown(pointing toward centrifuge inlet fitting) and tightennut until snug.

12. Connect small stainless hose to outlet side of tee fitting. Do not use thread sealant.

13. Reassemble turbo feed line to the top port of the new tee fitting and connect the other end of the stainless hose to centrifuge inlet.

Connect the Oil Drain Line

14. Place 1-inch black drain hose over engine return

fitting. Using a 5/16-in. socket, secure it with a

hose clamp.

Place two hose clamps onto

hose and push hose end onto

fitting installed in Step 9. Using

a 5/16-in. socket, secure this end

with hose clamps.

Reassemble and Test

15. Reinstall air cleaner.

16. Reconnect battery.

17. Run the truck up to operating temperature and check for leaks.

If leaks are detected, tighten fittings and clamps asnecessary, remembering not to over-tighten fittinginto the aluminum oil filter head.

Installation is now complete. You should have no parts remaining

Model 25 Centrifuge Service InstructionsSpinner PTOIL-CLEANING SYSTEM

1. Shut off oil supply (or stop engine) and allow cen-trifuge turbine assembly to come to a complete stop.

2. Unscrew cover nut and remove cover assembly.

3. Partially withdraw turbine assembly from the housingand allow oil to drain from nozzles before removingcompletely. Hold the assembly in one hand andremove bowl nut. Carefully separate centrifuge bowlfrom turbine body. Remove stand tube.

4. Carefully remove debris from centrifuge bowl using awooden spatula or other nondamaging tool.

5. Wipe out bowl with solvent and wash stand tube andother parts.

6. Clean turbine body and examine top and bottombearings for excessive wear. Check turbine nozzles toensure free passage of oil. Replace centrifuge bowlseal (available from Spinner II Products).

7. Seat stand tube in turbine, replace bowl and reassem-ble centrifuge, tightening the bowl nut securely byhand and making sure that the bowl seal is uniformlyseated all around.

8. Examine spindle journals for damage or excessivewear. Replace base assembly if journals are damaged.Spindle is pressed into base and aligned at the factory and cannot be properly serviced in the field.

9. Replace centrifuge turbine assembly on spindle, being careful of bushings. Be sure it rotates freely.

10. Clean and inspect cover, paying special attention tocover-nut assembly. The cover seal (available fromSpinner II Products) should be replaced if it showssigns of leaking.

11. Replace cover assembly and tighten cover nutsecurely to 8 ft-lbs maximum. Make sure that coverseats on base assembly evenly all around so thatcover seal is properly compressed.

12. With engine running, check all connections and jointsfor leaks. Repeat assembly if vibration is excessive.
