Performance and Versatility. Cat WorkTools are designed to optimize machineversatility and flexibility, and to delivermaximum performance, durability andreliability when used on CatTelehandlers. They enable a single

machine to perform a variety of tasks ina wide range of applications. See Page 13for telehandler/work tool compatibility.Consult individual machine load chartsfor proper loading capabilities.

Ease of Operation. These tools aredesigned with the operator in mind.Hook-up is easily accomplished for fast,secure work tool changes with theunique Cat hydraulic quick couplerdesign. Hose routing, hose length andquick disconnects have been optimizedto ensure proper guiding, protection andfit-up. Tool operation is easy with Cat’sjoystick design, which puts control ofwork tool functions at the operator’sfingertips.

Serviceability. Caterpillar Work Toolsutilize proven components, such asCaterpillar hydraulic hoses, couplings,O-ring face seals, hardware and bolt-oncutting edge. Each of these componentsis easily replaceable to extend work toollife, simplify servicing and reducedowntime.

Cat® Access PlatformAllows high reach access and one-man operation.

The Caterpillar Access Platform isespecially useful when performinghigh reach work such as buildingmaintenance, painting, electrical,plumbing, HVAC, building erectionand tree trimming.■ The THP10 Fixed Access Platform

enables work to be carried out atheight, in a traditional mannercovering a vertical path, wherethere are no space restrictionsat ground level.

■ Controls are located on the platform,allowing one-man operation of boomand engine functions.

■ Two speed controls provide preciseoperation of boom raise/lower andextend/retract functions.

■ All cab controls are immobilizedwhen the machine is in platformoperation mode.

■ The engine can be started andstopped from the platform.

■ Sensors prevent driving the machinewhen the platform is raised above theroad travel position.

Cat BucketsVariety of styles accommodate most jobsite needs.

Caterpillar offers five types of buckets for CatTelehandlers: General Purpose; Grapple; LightMaterial; Material Handling; and Multi Purpose.While they share many common features, each isdesigned to perform certain specific tasks.■ General purpose buckets are the all-around choice

for loading, carrying, dumping and performinggeneral cleanup work. They feature:– bolt-on cutting edge on the front clam edge

allows quick-change flexibility– formed back wrapper with optimum angle for

enhanced loadability and superior bucket fill– rounded corners help reduce material packing– dual torque tubes run the entire width of the

bucket to protect against twisting and impactforces for superior strength and durability

– hardened steel base and side cutting edgesprovide excellent penetration, durability andwear life.

■ Grapple bucket is ideal for site cleanup andis designed to handle a wide array of bulky,irregularly shaped objects such as tree limbs,logs and lumber ties. Features include:– bolt-on cutting edge on the front clam edge

allows quick-change flexibility– top grapple assembly for optimum loading, fill

and material retention– rounded corners help reduce material packing– skid bar runs the full width of the bucket to

provide additional floor rigidity and wearresistance

– hardened steel base and side cutting edgesprovide excellent penetration, durability andwear life

– removable side plates.■ Light material buckets have the largest capacity.

They are specially designed for light, looselypacked materials. They feature:– bolt-on cutting edge on the front clam edge

used as a dozing blade– bolt-on cutting edge on the front clam edge

allows quick-change flexibility– hardened steel base and side cutting edges

provide excellent penetration, durability andwear life

– cylinder pins are retained with a cross bolt thatmounts through the inner boss of both the clamand dozer assemblies

– grease points are conveniently located andprotected

– Cat hydraulic hoses, couplings and O-ring faceseals provide superior leak-free performanceand reliability

– hose lengths and routing are matched to themachine for proper protection, guiding and fit-up

– hydraulic lines connect to Cat Telehandlers’auxiliary hydraulic system with flat face quickdisconnects

– load hold check valves are located in thehydraulic lines on the rear of the bucket.

Cat CarriagesLift and place a variety of palletized materials.

Caterpillar Carriages are designed tohandle all kinds of palletized loads in alltypes of applications. Two widths areavailable — 1220 mm (48 in) and1850 mm (74 in). Five configurationsare offered — side-shift, standard width,standard rotating, wide and wide rotating.■ Load backrests provide safety and

stability.■ Rotating carriages rotate 12 degrees

to either side for precise loadpositioning.

■ Side-shift carriages can shift eitherleft or right of center by 150 mm(6 in) for greater maneuverabilitywhen picking up or placing loads.

■ All carriages work across allB-Series Telehandlers with common60 mm (2.4 in) bar.

Cat ForksHandle brick, block, bulky materials and palletized loads.

Caterpillar offers both Block Forks andPallet Forks for a wide variety ofmaterial handling jobs. Block Forks areavailable in sets of four or six forhandling brick or block, respectively.Pallet forks are offered in three lengths.When ordering, it is important to matchforks and carriages.■ Round bar design allows fork tines

to be adjusted or changed easily.■ Locking screws secure the fork tines

in place.

Cat Self Tipping HopperIdeal for collecting and disposing of jobsite debris.

The Caterpillar Self Tipping Hopperfeatures a container-type design forcollecting and disposing of jobsitedebris and all kinds of refuse material.One hopper is available.■ Welded plate construction provides

superior strength. ■ Manual release handle is located on

the cab side of the hopper for easyemptying.

■ Self-locking mechanism on thehopper fork heels helps assure safeoperation.

Cat Bale HandlerLoads and carries round and square bales of straw and hay.

The Caterpillar Bale Handler is designedto load, carry and handle round andsquare bales of cotton, straw, hay orother similar materials, whetherwrapped or unwrapped.■ Two arrangements are supplied with

the bale handler-one features a multi-spike arrangement for handling avariety of bale shapes and sizes, theother features curved arms for carefulhandling of wrapped bales.

■ Hydraulically operated clamp eitherensures firm grip of the bale whenwrapped or squeezes straw bales ontothe spikes, providing superior loadretention.

■ Changing between arrangements issimple and easy, taking a few minutesusing basic tools.
