In Myanmar, huge discrepancies in ICT knowledge between government IT personnel and private IT developers

Government agencies rely on private IT consultancies and developers to advise them on trends, strategies, requirements

IT companies usually do complete system analysis of the departments’ needs and submit project plans

Some projects are operated by private companies for a period of time before handing over fully

E-Services (E-Government) Much public service provided by

government, when official procedures require it, e-government services are accepted and used widely

E-Departure Forms Citizens can now file online their intent to travel out of country

E-Tourist VisasVisa applications can be submitted and approved online. Established in 2003 and suspended in 2004. Now in discussion stages to revive this project

Online Trade License System Companies can now apply online for export / import licenses and permits

Online Education / Master Degrees2 universities are now offering online classes, and they are successful
