Legendary trumpeter Hugh Masekela, an innovator in the world music and jazz scene, and Vusi Mahlasela, simply known as “The Voice” in his home-country of South Africa, connect Apartheid-scarred South Africa with its promise for a better future.

Playwright Chisa Hutchison, a true product of New Jersey, grew up in various situations in Newark, Short Hills, Millburn, Montclair and Maplewood — in that order. She currently resides in Perth Amboy and is a resident playwright at New Dramatists.
