Several students have already received placement into university due to the early entry programs that the universities offer. This is determined by what the student demonstrated while they were at school, supported by the Principal’s recommendation and the marks they received in the Trial Exams. It is an exciting time with their marks due out on 18 December 2013. School Spectacular At the moment we have 35 students participating at The School Spectacular in Sydney which is a magnificent opportunity for them. The Dunbe’ Drummers, Aboriginal Dancers and Contemporary Dancers are all performing. We look forward to their return and hear about their experiences. STOP WORK MEETING The Teachers Federation has called a stop work meeting for two hours next Tuesday 3 December 2013 from 9.00 am until 11.00 am. As a result of this there will be minimal supervision in place during this time as a number of staff will attend the meeting. School will resume at 11.00 am for recess and Roll Call at 11.20 am with normal timetabled lessons to follow. We apologise for any inconvenience caused.

The Hip Hop day which the whole school took part in last Friday was a great success with the students learning some classy
moves in Hip Hop, as well as learning about how to deal with the daily social issues that confront teenagers today. Thank you to Ms
Wauchope for organising the day and we look forward to similar days in the future.
Construction The Construction teachers have just undergone some retraining to maintain
currency in the Vocational Education and Training Courses. A number of projects are being completed which includes the laying of
several cement slabs for seating to be attached. This is being funded by the P&C and is an ongoing project. The students in
the Construction class gain valuable experience in doing this and satisfy some competencies in doing so.
Job Squad Mr Byrnes’ Job Squad has recently
completed some beautification work around the school. This has involved the enhancement of several gardens as well as
some basic landscaping. Once again the students gain valuable experience as they plan, prepare and implement their ideas.
Year 12 Our Year 12 students have long finished
their exams and departed the school. Several students have already received placement into university due to the early
entry programs that the universities offer. This is determined by what the student demonstrated while they were at school,
supported by the Principal’s recommendation and the marks they received in the Trial Exams. It is an exciting
time with their marks due out on 18 December 2013.
School Spectacular At the moment we have 35 students
participating at The School Spectacular in Sydney which is a magnificent opportunity for them. The Dunbe’ Drummers, Aboriginal
Dancers and Contemporary Dancers are all performing. We look forward to their return and hear about their experiences.

3 December 2013 from 9.00 am until 11.00 am. As a result of this there will be minimal

If anyone in the photo is under 18 they may be committing a crime. Viewing it or sending it to others may also be a crime.
If the image/video has been posted online, contact the site administrator and ask them to remove it. It is normal to feel sick/angry/worried but it is most important to focus on the facts and delete the image/video to the greatest extent possible.
Ask the school to help track who might have the image and where it might be posted. Ask them to provide support to your child and others involved.
Sexting is not uncommon behaviour and your child is not alone in being negatively impacted. Rather than adding to the distress, implement clear consequences for your child instead. E.g., limited phone/internet use.
Help them stay connected to friends online and offline for support. Ask an adult you trust to check how they are doing and help them manage peer reactions.
Sexting is the sending of provocative or sexual photos, images, messages or videos using a mobile phone, via email or posting online. Young people often consider sexting as a way of connecting in a relationship.
Cybersmart has developed information for parents to help manage sexting:
If you or someone you know wants to talk about sexting or have been negatively impacted by sexting , visit the Cybersmart Online Helpline (www.cybersmart.gov.au/report.aspx) or call Kids Helpline on 1800 55 1800.
