How to Sustain a Community of Practice (CoP) In order to sustain a CoP it is imperative to include MAVENS,
CONNECTORS and SALESPEOPLE as the members.
MAVENS are subject matter experts. They provide new information, refine existing ones and highlight insights
CONNECTORS as the name suggests connect people and groups and also establish new partnerships.
SALESPEOPLE are persuasive and charismatic and also act as negotiators. They are the champions who energize the group.

Young & Cooperating An e-mouthpiece for the ICA Committee on Youth Cooperation for
Asia Pacific.
Cooperatives are a reminder to the international community that it is possible to pursue both economic viability and social responsibility(UN-SG).
The Lowest stage of humanity is experienced when the individual must labor for a small pittance of wages from others.(Robert Owen, Father of Cooperation)
Every kind of peaceful cooperation among men is primarily based on mutual trust and only secondarily on institutions…. (Albert Einstein)
I am not young enough to know every thing –Oscar Wilde
A cooperative is an autonomous association of persons united voluntarily to meet their common needs and aspirations through a jointly owned and democratically controlled enterprise.

Knowledge Exchange (KE) – The Art Knowledge Exchange or peer-to-peer learning is
a powerful way to share, replicate and scale up development success stories.
Development practitioners are keen to learn from the practical experience of others facing or have faced similar problems.
Basically they want to be connected to each other and have ready access to knowledge and solutions.

UNDP is a knowledge institution and its role in this arena includes:
Producing and disseminating high Quality global and country knowledge. E.g. The Human Development Reports.
Utilizing best available knowledge to influence and inform policies and programs designed to meet specific challenges
Connecting governments, civil society and private sector players with others that have faced similar challenges.
Keeping in view UNDP’s scale and diversity, it can play any or all of the above roles as required to address the development challenges in particular as a knowledge producer, knowledge customizer and knowledge connector.

Conclusion
Youth today are the major stakeholders to tackle the adverse impacts of climate change as the real impacts of climate change are yet to be felt
Therefore, there is an urgent need to increase awareness amongst the youth on various facets of climate change.
A cost effective way to share knowledge and enhance awareness would be to create a sub-community of practice under the aegis of the climate change community, Solution Exchange
The modalities of such a community of practice neds to be worked out with ICA-AP.
In order to empower the youth all over the world, I think setting up such a community of practice is the need of the hour as the youth really need to cooperate if they are to face this challenge.
Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon way back in 2008 warned of the dangers of the fight against climate change – which he characterized as the “defining challenge of our era”
