Right from the outset our vision was that Duqm Refinery would not exist in isolation but rather would be an integral part of the community. It is both a source of national pride as well as an opportunity to create tangible benefits for the local economy.

The wealth created by the refinery would therefore not only benefit employees and shareholders, but the surrounding community as well. To this end, Duqm Refinery’s CSR programmes are designed to deliver long-term social benefits, while simultane-ously tackling more pressing community needs.

Our vision is to integrate social responsibility in ways that can benefit both society and business. One vital aspect is building partnerships with local communities and other stakeholders in order to deliver meaningful and valuable social benefits.

We also seek to develop local trade and businesses through spin-off projects arising from our operations as part of our ICV programmes.

They are: Women empowerment, conservation of heritage and culture, building capacity amongst youth, training and education and preservation of the environ-ment.
