PLANNING

• When planning it was different from last year due to the fact we had no knowledge or inspiration of what we could do. But this year we was able to communicate ideas efficiently and understand what will make us the best. The ideas took a while to put together and figure out a good plan but in the end we just decided on one thing and all agreed as a group to carry it out till the end.

• When planning we looked at shots we will take. Then story boarded the whole thing. Thought of location and then we went to name of artist and brand image and every little thing down the costume and lighting.

FILMING

• In the filming stage I learnt the most because for me I think the filming was the fun part.

When filming we was put up against a challenge against the time we had to shoot perfect base tracks without any mess ups however in music videos that can still be alright because the more base tracks you have the less of the mistakes you need to use in the actual music video. It was just great to get out there and understand how music videos are made and how much time and effort go into making a music video and especially when considering the little things like if the music video will go well the genre and what kind of message you are trying to convey. When filming we combated with the weather and delays in transport and all that yet we filmed over the period of 5 days and on the first two days we got a lot done.

EDITING

• Editing Skills – in A2 I was able to look again at editing on final cut pro and by doing this I was able to understand more how editing a music video works. In my own opinion it is easier to film it if you know what your doing.

• I learnt how to lip sync videos by using markers and editing to the beat. I also learnt how to change the colour of a clip to make it look better instead of relying on what time and place you filmed it at – hoping the sun was shining.
