A Mighty Fortress Is Our God

Page 4: Sing aloud to God our strength; shout for joy to the God of Jacob! Psalm 81:1 Call to Worship.

For still our ancient foedoth seek to work us woe;

his craft and pow’r are great;and armed with cruel hate,on earth is not his equal.

Page 5: Sing aloud to God our strength; shout for joy to the God of Jacob! Psalm 81:1 Call to Worship.

Did we in our own strength confide,our striving would be losing;

were not the right Man on our side,the Man of God’s own choosing:

Page 6: Sing aloud to God our strength; shout for joy to the God of Jacob! Psalm 81:1 Call to Worship.

dost ask who that may be?Christ Jesus, it is he;

Lord Sabaoth, his Name,from age to age the same,and he must win the battle.

Page 7: Sing aloud to God our strength; shout for joy to the God of Jacob! Psalm 81:1 Call to Worship.

And though this world,with devils filled,

should threaten to undo us,we will not fear, for God hath willed

his truth to triumph through us:

Page 8: Sing aloud to God our strength; shout for joy to the God of Jacob! Psalm 81:1 Call to Worship.

the Prince of Darkness grim,we tremble not for him;his rage we can endure,for lo, his doom is sure,

one little word shall fell him.

Page 9: Sing aloud to God our strength; shout for joy to the God of Jacob! Psalm 81:1 Call to Worship.

That word above all earthly powers,no thanks to them, abideth;

the Spirit and the gifts are oursthrough him who with us sideth:

let goods and kindred go,this mortal life also;

the body they may kill:God’s truth abideth still,his kingdom is forever.

For I am God,and there is no other…

Only in the LORD,it shall be said of me,

are righteousness and strength.”

Call to Confession of Sin

Page 13: Sing aloud to God our strength; shout for joy to the God of Jacob! Psalm 81:1 Call to Worship.

Gracious God, our sins are too heavy to carry, too real to hide, and too deep to undo. Forgive what our lips tremble to name, what our hearts can no longer bear, and what has become for us a consuming fire of judgment.

Confession of Sin

Page 14: Sing aloud to God our strength; shout for joy to the God of Jacob! Psalm 81:1 Call to Worship.

Set us free from a past that we cannot change; open to us a future in which we can be changed; and grant us grace to grow in your likeness and image, through Jesus Christ, the light of the world. Amen.

Israel is saved by the LORDwith everlasting salvation;

May the peace of Christ be with you.And also with you.

Whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows bountifully will also reap bountifully. Each one must give as he has decided in his heart, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver. And God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that having all sufficiency in all things at all times, you may abound in every good work.

2 Corinthians 9:6-8

Let us pray…

Prayers of the People

Page 22: Sing aloud to God our strength; shout for joy to the God of Jacob! Psalm 81:1 Call to Worship.

Most gracious God, who has promised to reveal His glory among all nations,

Hear us as we pray for Your church. Bless all the ministers of Your word and sacraments and unite all Christians in the bonds of holy faith, through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Page 23: Sing aloud to God our strength; shout for joy to the God of Jacob! Psalm 81:1 Call to Worship.

Lord God of our fathers, who has promised to take care of our every need,

Give us peaceful times and fruitful seasons. Grant all in authority over us wisdom and strength to do Your will through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Page 24: Sing aloud to God our strength; shout for joy to the God of Jacob! Psalm 81:1 Call to Worship.

Most merciful Father, comfort all who believe the good news of Your grace.

We pray for all who are distressed: the poor, the homeless, the sick, the bereaved, and those afflicted in body and mind. Comfort and relieve them according to Your will, through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Page 25: Sing aloud to God our strength; shout for joy to the God of Jacob! Psalm 81:1 Call to Worship.

And now, as our Savior taught us, let us humbly pray:

Page 26: Sing aloud to God our strength; shout for joy to the God of Jacob! Psalm 81:1 Call to Worship.

Our Father, who art in heaven,hallowed be Thy name.

Thy kingdom come, Thy will be doneon earth as it is in heaven.

Give us this day our daily bread,And forgive us our debts

as we forgive our debtors.And lead us not into temptation

but deliver us from evil.For Thine is the kingdom and the power

and the glory forever. Amen.

I Come With Joy To Meet My Lord

Page 28: Sing aloud to God our strength; shout for joy to the God of Jacob! Psalm 81:1 Call to Worship.

His name is Jesus!A sacrifice of love,

I owe him everything,my life, my all.

Page 29: Sing aloud to God our strength; shout for joy to the God of Jacob! Psalm 81:1 Call to Worship.

I come with Christians far and nearto find as all are fed,

the new community of lovein Christ’s communion bread.

Page 31: Sing aloud to God our strength; shout for joy to the God of Jacob! Psalm 81:1 Call to Worship.

As Christ breaks breadand bids us share,

each proud division ends;the love that made us makes us one,

and strangers now are friends.

I owe him everything,my life, my all.

Page 33: Sing aloud to God our strength; shout for joy to the God of Jacob! Psalm 81:1 Call to Worship.

Together met, together bound,we’ll go our different ways;

and as his people in the world,we’ll live and speak his praise.

How Deep The Father’s Love For Us

Page 36: Sing aloud to God our strength; shout for joy to the God of Jacob! Psalm 81:1 Call to Worship.

How great the pain of searing loss;the Father turns his face away

as wounds which mar the Chosen Onebring many sons to glory.

Page 37: Sing aloud to God our strength; shout for joy to the God of Jacob! Psalm 81:1 Call to Worship.

Behold the Man upon the cross,my sin upon his shoulders;

ashamed, I hear my mocking voicecall out among the scoffers.

Page 38: Sing aloud to God our strength; shout for joy to the God of Jacob! Psalm 81:1 Call to Worship.

It was my sin that held him thereuntil it was accomplished.

His dying breath has brought me life,I know that it is finished.

Page 39: Sing aloud to God our strength; shout for joy to the God of Jacob! Psalm 81:1 Call to Worship.

I will not boast in anything,no gifts, no pow’r, no wisdom;but I will boast in Jesus Christ,

his death and resurrection.

Page 40: Sing aloud to God our strength; shout for joy to the God of Jacob! Psalm 81:1 Call to Worship.

Why should I gain from his reward?I cannot give an answer,

but this I know with all my heart;his wounds have paid my ransom.

And in Jesus Christ,His only Son, our Lord, who was

conceived by the Holy Spirit,born of the virgin Mary,

suffered under Pontius Pilate,was crucified, dead, and buried.

He descended into hell.

Page 45: Sing aloud to God our strength; shout for joy to the God of Jacob! Psalm 81:1 Call to Worship.

The third dayhe rose again from the dead.

He ascended into heaven,and is seated at the right hand

of God the Father Almighty.From there he shall come

to judge the living and the dead.

Page 46: Sing aloud to God our strength; shout for joy to the God of Jacob! Psalm 81:1 Call to Worship.

I believe in the Holy Spirit,the holy catholic church,the communion of saints,the forgiveness of sins,

the resurrection of the body,and the life everlasting.

Amen.

Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts,to which indeed you were called in one body.

And be thankful.

To You, O Lord, I Lift My Eyes

As servants watchtheir master’s hand,

So to the Lord our eyes we raise,until his mercy he displays.
