Welcome
Flowers The sanctuary flowers are given today to the glory of God
from the wedding of Haleigh Swierski and Zachary Mahaffey.
The King’s Brass Tim Zimmerman, director
To Our Guests,We especially welcome you today! More information about our church is available on our website at firstpresaugusta.org. You can also visit our welcome desk in the Welcome Center, located directly behind the sanctuary.
Spiritual CareIf you would like to speak to someone about what it means to know Jesus Christ or you have any spiritual need or question, please use one of the prayer cards in the pew rack to contact one of our pastors. Our church elders are also available to speak with you. An Elder and his wife will be standing next to the pastor following the service to talk or pray with you.
Children’s Check-inWe are committed to the highest level of protection possible for the children placed in our care on Sundays and at all church events. For this reason, we require parents of newborns through fifth grade children to check in their children before they go to the nursery, Sunday School, Catechism, Children’s Church or any other children’s activity. Kiosks are available in the Narthex and in the Children’s Lobby. The process is quick and easy, and volunteers are available to assist you.
Children’s WorshipWe offer a specially designed program for children in pre-K through fourth grade during the morning services. Leaders will escort children from the sanctuary to their classrooms during the hymn of preparation. Parents are welcome to accompany them to observe where to pick them up after the service. Children in pre-K through second grade remain in their classrooms until they are picked up by a parent.
Nursery Nurseries are provided for infants and toddlers during the worship services and Sunday School. We provide a Mother/Infant Room (room 160) located in the Ebenezer Building behind the sanctuary, and the Geneva Room is designated as a cry room for parents with fussy children. Both rooms are equipped with live video feed of the worship services. Ushers are available to direct you.
Additional Seating Additional seating for morning and evening worship services is available each week in St. Andrew’s Hall.
As stewards of God’s resources, we try not to print an excess of bulletins. We invite you to bring this bulletin with you when you return for the evening service.

†The Call to Worship ..............................................................................from Psalm 47Clap your hands, all you nations; shout to God with cries of joy.
How awesome is the Lord Most High, the great King over all the earth!
God has ascended amid shouts of joy, the Lord amid the sounding of trumpets.
Sing praises to God, sing praises; sing praises to our King, sing praises.
The Lord be with you.And with your spirit.Let us worship God!
’Tis a gift to be simple, ’tis a gift to be free, ’Tis a gift to come down where you ought to be. And when we find ourselves in the place just right ’Twill be in God’s valley of love and delight.
Praise God from whom all blessings flow.Praise him all creatures here below. Praise him, ye above, heavenly hosts.Praise the Father and the Son and the Holy Ghost.Thankful praise, humble praise, Lord we give to thee.Till the day I am home, you alone I seek.

§The Personal Confession of Sin
† Indicates the congregation standing. § Please kneel if able to do so.
We believe and confess one single catholic or universal church—a holy congregation and gathering of true Christian believers, awaiting their entire salvation in Jesus Christ, being washed by his blood, and sanctified and sealed by the Holy Spirit.
This church has existed from the beginning of the world and will last until the end, as appears from the fact that Christ is eternal King who cannot be without subjects.
And this holy church is preserved by God against the rage of the whole world, even though for a time it may appear very small to human eyes—as though it were snuffed out.
And so this holy church is not confined, bound, or limited to a certain place or certain people.
But it is spread and dispersed throughout the entire world, though still joined and united in heart and will, in one and the same Spirit, by the power of faith.

†The Pastoral Prayer and The Lord’s PrayerOur Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory forever. Amen.
The Assurance of Pardoning Grace .........................................................1 John 1:5-7This is the message we have heard from him and proclaim to you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all. If we say we have fellowship with him while we walk in darkness, we lie and do not practice the truth. But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus his Son cleanses us from all sin.
Almighty God, in raising Jesus from the grave, you shattered the power of sin and death and proved your matchless sovereignty. Yet we confess that we often remain captive to our mistrust and fear. In our suffering, we have not believed your promises or rested in your holiness. We have complained in our hearts about our family, about our friends, about our health, about our occupations, about your church, and about our trials. We have doubted your perfect reign, infinite wisdom, fatherly goodness and eternal love. We have sought our security in things that perish, rather than in you, the Everlasting God. Help us to humble ourselves and trust in your power. Even if we do not understand your ways, give us grace to trust your heart. Conquer, cleanse, and forgive us, through our Savior Jesus Christ, who always lives to make intercession for us. Amen.

Words by Thomas Kelly, 1809. | Music by William H. Monk, 1871.
Look, ye saints, the sight is glorious: See the Man of Sorrows now; From the fight returned victorious, Ev’ry knee to him shall bow. Crown him! Crown him! Crowns become the Victor’s brow.
Crown the Savior, angels, crown him; Rich the trophies Jesus brings; In the seat of pow’r enthrone him, While the vault of heaven rings. Crown him! Crown him! Crown the Savior King of kings.
Hark! those bursts of acclamation! Hark! those loud triumphant chords! Jesus takes the highest station; O what joy the sight affords! Crown him! Crown him! King of kings and Lord of lords.

The Prayer of Great Thanksgiving
The Lord’s Supper
All who are thirsty, All who are weak, Come to the fountain. Dip your heart in the stream of life. Let the pain and the sorrow Be washed away In the waves of his mercy As deep cries out to deep.
We sing: Come, Lord Jesus, come. Come, Lord Jesus, come. Come, Lord Jesus, come. Come, Lord Jesus, come.
Holy Spirit, come. Holy Spirit, come.
Come, Lord Jesus, come. Come, Lord Jesus, come.
Amazing grace how sweet the soundThat saved a wretch like me;I once was lost, but now am found,Was blind, but now I see.
And when this flesh and heart shall fail, And mortal life shall cease; I shall possess within the veilA life of joy and peace.
The Lord has promised good to me;His word my hope secures. He will my shield, and portion beAs long as life endures.
