Sika�s APP/ Plastomeric Bituminous waterproofing membranes are manufactured from a rich mixture of bitumen and selected polymers blended together to obtain excellent heat resistance, flexibility and durability. Modified bitumen membranes have a dimensionally stable carrier to obtain excellent tensile strength, tear and puncture resistance.

Surface Preparation :Concrete, mortar surfaces must be clean, free from grease, oil, and loosely adhering particles.

Application Method / ToolsApplication procedure may vary slightly depending upon site conditions. However, general guidelines are as follows.Apply solvent / water based primer to a clean, smooth and dry surface by brush, roller or spray. Unroll, align and re-roll correctly before torching. Use gas burner to heat the substrate and thermo fusible film on the underside of the membrane. When the thermo- fusible film melts after torching, the membrane is ready to stick. Roll forward and press firmly against the substrate to bond. Heat the round tipped trowel and use the same to smoothen and press the seam to overlap. Side overlaps should be a minimum of 80 to 100 mm and end overlaps 150 mm.All angles and abutments should be sealed with extra care to ensure full bondage. The edges should be sealed well into the grooves.The membrane should be protected from getting damaged due to ongoing site activities. During backfilling either by cement sand plaster or other suitable methods.

Application Instructions

Storage ConditionsRolls must be stored in their original package, in vertical position and under cool and dry conditions. They must be protected from direct sunlight, rain, snow and ice, etc.
