Shihezi University - School of Medicine invites Indian students

Shihezi University is located in Shihezi—a city honored

as a Pearl in the Gobi Desert in the northern slope of the

Tianshan Mountains in Xinjiang. Shihezi University was

ranked among the key constructed University under the state

“211 Project” on December 2008. The university has 20

colleges, 2,607 employees and 30,032 students.

Shihezi University is one of the higher educational institutes

recognized by WHO (World Health Organization) and is

permitted by Ministry of Education of China to teach clinical

medicine to international students in English. Shihezi

University has got the added advantage of having Chinese

government Scholarship Program.

Shihezi University, School of Medicine has Clinical

Medicine, Stomatology, Anesthesiology, Medical Imaging,

Preventive Medicine majors and Nursing major for under-

graduates. It has a long era of 60 years at its back. In 2011 there

are 2841

undergraduates, 658 graduates from the school.

Teaching Staff

Teaching Staff: including medical workers about 389

giving clinical lesson or skill-training in medicine,

surgery, nursing and other specialties. And basic

medicine workers about 135 giving Human Anatomy,

Histology & Embryology, Cell Biology, and so on.

In its history of 60 years, great achievements have obtained

in research work on the principles of “enlarging the

advantageous, supporting the important and raising the new”

with regional characteristics. More projects and much

financial arrangements are admitted and progressed smoothly

year by year.

Equipments

School of Medicine has 30 affiliated Hospitals /clinical practice

hospitals, with 10 of them bearing Honored as "A-Degree in Level-

Three Hospital" .


The First Affiliated Hospital bears both honored titles of

“A-Degree in Level-three Hospitals " and “The 100 Best

Hospitals in P.R.China", with 1800 wards, 34 clinical

departments, 11 medical research and functional departments

and 28 clinical teaching departments. Its building area

reaches 110,000 square meters, and its fixed assets

＄ 15,600,000 .


Ⅲ Education to International Students This School accepts foreign students in clinical major since 2002.

Now we have seven batches of graduates of total 231 students.

4. Scholarship Programs Shihezi University is authorized by China Scholarship Council and the Ministry of Education of China to award scholarships to excellent international students (worth of 1400 yuan per month) under Chinese Government Scholarship Program.

In addition to this, Shihezi University also offer certain other minor scholarships for international students who manage to achieve excellence in different area of study.

5. Living facilities of the college

A 6 floored building has single and double rooms. All

rooms are equipped with attached bathroom, flat color TV,

telephone, internet port and beddings. There are common

laundry rooms for students. Central heating system works in

winter ， 24 hours hot water supply.

In addition ， the Muslim Mess and the main dining hall are

very near to the hostel, which can cater for different tastes of

students. The students can also apply for residency in the

four star hotel of the campus. At the same time, you will be pleased

to discover that there are grocery stores and shops nearby. You can

easily locate KFC, Dicos, and Pizza Hut for sure.

Extracurricular Activities

The first competition of Chinese and Chinese Arts for

international students was hold in autonomous region,2010.

Five international students of our college obtained awards in

calligraphy, Chinese drawing and cutting. It’s promote the

differences in cross-cultures.

At present, regular cooperation and exchange programs

among this School and the Medical Branch of Alabama

University, the Medical Branch of Beijing University, the

Medical Branch of Huazhong University of Technology and

Sciences, Shanghai Second Medical University, etc. are

working and we hope in the future we will be looking forward

for more.
