A series of zines based on a Will Self novel titled ‘My Idea Of Fun’ which explores our ‘enlightened society’ and delves into music, literature and photography that details the idea of fun and how it is sometimes taken to perverse extremes, with

the intent of, as J.G. Ballard put its ‘to rub the human face in it’s own vomit.’

As a follow on from the previous project, these four publications will exist to document events around the world in which people have chosen to publicly

express their idea of fun; whereas the previous zines consisted mainly of imagery, the following

publications will contain excerpts from Ballard, Self and Bret Easton Ellis who quite often touch on the

subjects close to the concept. The entire project is an ironic take on the mindless reblogging of each other

that is constantly happening.;

“Life is a typographical error: we’re constantly writing and rewriting things over each other.”

- Bret Easton Ellis

A rebrand of Scotch Whisky to appeal to women rather than men; trying to get away from the traditional ‘heather and weather’ imagery. Rather than to directly appeal to women, I decided to go in a different direction; I wanted

to instead suggest that women were manipulative; by manipulating them. In the similar way that cartoons have the ability to interest both children and adults (visuals; children, dialogue; adults) I intended to create something that

was attractive to women, but used primarily by men to lure them.

Live ISTD brief requiring you to revise the idea of the book and how people read. The text is from a Jack Zipes story titled ‘The Waitress’ and so I have chosen to represent the story

in a laminated, large A2 format pastiche menu.
