Section E – Fine Spray Nozzles
Standard nozzles: Traditional threaded nozzles made of metal .
Quick-Connect nozzles: Consisting of a nozzle body and spray tip, quick-connect nozzles can reduce maintenance time and lower costs . The spray tips can be removed for cleaning and/or replacement while the nozzle bodies remain on the pipe or spray header .
• UniJet® nozzles:
Our fine spray hydraulic atomizing nozzles are available in two styles .
• Reduce operating costs and maintenance downtime by using quick-connect nozzles. Nozzle bodies remain on the header – only spray tips are replaced.
• Use strainers to reduce nozzle clogging and ensure optimum performance.
• Use adjustable ball connections for quick, precise nozzle orientation.
• Evaluate your specific spraying application and implement a regular nozzle maintenance plan.
Optimization Tips
Maintenance essentials include:
– Visual inspection of spray pattern. Orifice wear in hollow cone nozzles will destroy the spray pattern uniformity. Streaks will develop and the pattern will become heavy or light in sections of the spray. Orifice wear in full cone nozzles also causes spray pattern deterioration as more liquid flows to the center of the pattern.
– Monitor flow rate and pressure to detect changes resulting from orifice wear. Orifice wear in nozzles will destroy the spray pattern uniformity, and deterioration, this can also result in larger drop sizes. Larger drops can reduce fogging and misting effectiveness and result in less total liquid surface area.
A typical UniJet assembly with TN tip will consist of a T female body or TT male body, screen strainer, spray tip and tip retainer. A typical UniJet assembly with TN-SSTC tip will consist of a high pressure UniJet female body, gasket, screen strainer, tip gasket, spray tip and high pressure tip retainer.

UniJet Spray TipsUniJet Bodies
• T female or TT male inlet connections
Spray Nozzles, Standard Spray
• Very fine atomized sprays in a hollow cone spray pattern using liquid pressure alone – compressed air not required.
Features and Benefits
– Nozzle body, strainer, spray tip, tip retainer.
– High pressure body, gasket, screen strainer, tip gasket, spray tip, high pressure tip retainer.
• Orifice inserts, cores and strainers are easily removed for inspection or cleaning.
• Large choice of interchangeable spray tips, body types/sizes and materials.
• UniJet nozzle options:
• Uniform distribution over a wide range of flow rates and pressures.
• Very small drops often achieving misting performance.
• Lower cost – nozzle body can be reused – only spray tips are replaced.
• TN provides extra fine atomization at relatively low pressures and capacities.
• Misting of produce to preserve freshness and storage life
• Wetting without excess moisture
