As you can see from the slide before there is a breakdown of the audience that went to see Inside man when it was in the cinema.

The film is a classic thriller/ drama that uses suspense as a major factor within the film

The gender breakdown of the film was 64% male and 34% female

The majority of the ages that went to see it was 15-34 The social classes that went to see it where in majority ABC1 All of these findings here suggest to us for this particular kind of

thriller that The Target audience is 15-34 year old males that have or are in the social class of ABC1

These findings reveal that it is predominantly young males that go to see this kind of thriller showing that maybe this kind of movie is more attractive to younger males due to the suspense factor.

The film traitor is again a thriller / drama with the conspiracy element within it. This also still uses suspense as a key element within it.

Even though there wasn’t any data for traitor in terms of the audience. There is The siege audience breakdown which is a very similar film

As we can see from the table yet again it is mainly male orientated with about 60% males.

The ages again stretch from 15-34 again having quite a large base of a young audience.

The social class’s of the film yet again is mainly ABC1 Again suggesting that this genre of film attracts young

males that a proffesional’s or students

The departed is a film about a gang culture within boston in america, where the police have infiltrated an irish mob gang and the police have got a mole from the gang within its ranks

This is a classic example of a high stakes and high suspense thriller with having a unexpected twists and turns through out

The main gender that went to see the film as male with about 70% been male

The majority of the ages that went to see the film was again 15-34 again suggesting that the most attracted to this type of film is young males.

Conclusion

To conclude my secondary audience research on the thriller / drama genre i have found the following points:

The majority of the audiences watching it are males between the ages of 15-34.

This research has shown to me that thrillers are predominantly watched by males suggesting to me that my film’s Target audience is young males and i will aim my audience more to the male market.
