Be sure to specify “72nd St Station Area.” Second Avenue Subway is in the process of evaluating whether the existing gas mains along Second Avenue should be relocated before the commencement of construction of the street entrance at 69th Street. In this case, there will be two shifts of the traffic lanes and work zones between 69th and 70th Streets. In either case, there will only be three travel lanes available. Once the evaluation is completed, notice will be provided on the commencement date of the lane reduction from four traffic lanes to three traffic lanes along Second Avenue between 69th and 70th Streets. SAS Project News SAS Community News: MTA Capital Construction will host the next Second Avenue Subway Ask the Experts session Wednesday, June 11th, at Temple Israel (112 East 75th Street) from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Ask the Experts is an informal session that gives attendees the opportunity to pose questions and raise issues directly to the subject matter experts, who in many cases can provide an answer right there. Experts from city agencies including; Health, Sanitation, Environmental Protection and Police, are scheduled to staff tables to answer your Second Avenue Subway- related questions. In addition to the various agency representatives, New York City Transit and Second Avenue Subway experts on the environment, the Good Neighbor Initiative, and Maintenance and Protection of Traffic will be on hand, along with project field staff for each of the four station areas. Only Second Avenue Subway-related questions will be addressed at this event. Reservations are required. Capacity is limited to 200 people. Photo ID is required for entry. CIC The Second Avenue Subway Community Information Center (CIC) is located at 1628 Second Avenue, between 84th and 85th Streets. The Second Avenue Subway Community Information Center unveiled its new exhibit En Route: Construction Techniques and Technologies Used to Build the Second Avenue Subway on May 23rd.
