Social Media Advice from coach Herm Edwards

“Don’t press send” (There is no magic un-do button. You have to live with the consequences)

"It's your privilege, not your right, to play in the NFL. A little fraternity. Don't think because you're a talented college player it's your right.“

"From now on, everything you do, it becomes news. If it's past midnight, go home."

Chargers Social Media Policy for Employees

Game Day!!!!!Players, coaches and football operations personnel can use social media up to 90 minutes before kickoff and following post-game media interviews.

No use during the game or halftime; that includes any representatives using your personal social media accounts.

(Interpretation: Your friend or agent could tweet under his or her own name but not as the player or coach.)

Facebook profile and the world

Things to remember before posting to Facebook:

-EVERYTHING you post can be seen by anyone with internet access (i.e. Family, Friends, Fans, Media, etc.)-Check your privacy settings-Make sure other people who tag you in photos have your permission to post on your timeline-Only accept friends that you know-Avoid having your picture taken while partying, drinking or hanging out with women-When people ask questions, find out who is asking (i.e. Media, Fan, Friend, etc.) and determine if your response will lead to a potential problem-“Haters” are going to hate. You are not required to engage with them
