2. Monera is a now-obsolete taxonomic group inBiological Classification originally understood asone of Five Biological-Kindoms. The kingdomMonera included most organisms with a ProkaryoticCell organization (that is, no nucleus). For this reason,the kingdom was sometimes called Prokaryota orProkaryotae. The kingdom was divided into twodivisions of Bacteria (or Schizomycetes) andCyanophyta or Blue-green algae.Under the three-domain system of TaxonomyEstablished in 1991, the organisms formerly withinMonera have been divided into two domains, Archaeand Bacteria (with Eukaryote as the third domain) 3. Bacteria, from the Latin word Bacterium(Plural,bacteria), is the largest group of living organisms.They are very small or Microscopic and mostly Unicellularor single celled, with a relatively simple cell structure with Nonucleus or Nucleus of cells, Cytoskeleton, and organellessuch as Mitochondria and Chloroplasts. Their cell structure is described further in the articleabout prokaryotes, because bacteria are prokaryotes, todistinguish them from the organisms that have morecomplex cells, called eukaryotes. The term "bacteria" hasbeen applied to all prokaryotes or to a large group of them,depending on ideas about their relationship. 4. Shapes of the bacteria are circle (coccus) ,bar (bacillus),spiral (spirilium), and comma(vibrio). 6. Some blue-green algaeare unicellular, havingcolonies or in shapemultucellular filament,having phycocyanin (blue),and phycoerythrin (red), aswell as chloroplast spread allover the cell. In general, theycant move. However, some ofthem can move back-forwardlike Oscillatria. Habitats ofblue-green algae include freshwater, sea water, humid place,and rocks or stones. 7.
