Savings balance decreased during the month of September due to disminu- tions reflected by Banco Ademi and Mibanco. This value grew up in Decem- ber given the steady growth registered by most of institutions. AFRICA AND ASIA Savings Balance grew consistently over the last year. Akiba fell slightly in Novem- ber but then rebounded significantly at the end of the year. Akiba keeps leader- ship in terms of balance. The most important product in terms of customers is the savings account. None- therless, there is a special diversification in Latin America com in terms of balance because some institutions, keep high ba- lances in deposits and current accounts. Savings accounts are the most impor- tant product within African institutions except for the case of EAMF which main product is the current account.. Growth in terms of savers keeps posi- tive trend within all African institutions which are operating savings products. None of them decreased at the end of the year.
