    Chairman's Message

    I n r e c e n t y e a r s , t h e

    importance of infrastructurefor the sustained economicd e v e l o p m e n t a n dimprovement o f l i v i ngstandards of the populationhas well been recognized. Yet,millions of people across therural demography lack accessto roads, transport, electricity,safe drinking water, proper

sanitation, and communication facil ities.Inadequate and inefcient infrastructure not only

increases cost of living but also prevents economiesfrom realizing their full potential.

The annual growth rate of most developingeconomies, which was in the range of 6 to 9 percentin the last decade, has declined sharply in recentyears. To continue the sustained growth, mostnotably in developing economies, there is a direneed to introduce and accelerate new initiativesand strategies in infrastructure management.

As the Chairman of the Group of Companies, Ibelieve in establishing a policy framework to

rigorously evaluate the sustainability of thein f ras t ructure across p lann ing, des ign ,construction, and operation and maintenance tooptimise the already constrained resources byreducing waste, and costs. Such a move will benetstakeholders across the spectrum right from assetowners to infrastructure development andmanagement companies, and ultimately assetusers.

We have therefore designed and developed ourservices and solutions that are proven to be

innovative, sustainable, and value for money. Witha proven track record of success in complex anddifcult environments, our group providesexpertise in planning, design, and management toprovide reliable and sustainable solutions that fullthe unique needs of each country and scale alongwith its growth needs.

The world is undergoing a major transition with amajority population migrating to urban areas.Rapid urbanisation has led to increased congestionon roads, increased demand for water, sewerage,

sanitation, education and health infrastructure thusincreased demand for investment. Indian cities,

with rapid urbanisation, are no exception to this

trend. The environment, social and economicimpact of this shift is signicant and will onlycontinue to grow in future. New approaches have tobe adopted to address these issues and to scale fastenough to effectively provide infrastructure to arapidly growing community. A strong domainexpertise in urban infrastructure and service deliveryis being developed focussing on smart citydevelopment, city development planning, detailedproject report preparation, real estate and housingdevelopment and policy and institutional design forproviding efcient urban services and managing the

    public utilities.

Our technical expertise in remote sensing and GIShas driven the group to enter into the arena ofmining and mineral exploration. The miningindustry is a major hub of activity, which contributessignicantly to developing economies. We are usingadvanced remote sensing techniques to explorenew mining zones and mineral explorations byreducing operational costs and hazardousenvironmental practices, hence doing our bit tocontribute towards sustainable environmental

protection.Considering the absence of integrated forward andbackward linkages in agro infrastructure, our Grouphas decided to enter into, and promote agroinfrastructure to tap into the unrealised potential ofrural communities. Our objective is to provideadequate infrastructure facilities for foodprocessing throughout the value chain from farm tomarket that meet environmental, safety and socials tandards . Th is wi l l inc lude creat ion ofinfrastructure near farm, transportation, logisticsand centralised processing centres. The expectedoutcome is increased realisation for farmers, creation of high quality rural processinginfrastructure, reduction in wastage, capacitybuilding of the producers and processors andcreation of an efcient supply chain along withsignicant direct and indirect employmentgeneration.

Currently, our group has presence in over 70countries. The future is bright and sunny and I amsure, with the backing of a strong board, and ourexuberant workforce; we as a team will become a

leading infrastructure group in the years to come.

ROMDAS® System has been developed to be one of the most cost effective andversatile data collection systems available for road asset management. ROMDAS® isan innovative and completely portable modular system for collecting data on roads, pavements and trafc condition that is being used in more than 70 differentcountries.

HIMS Asset Management System (HIMS)  is a powerful and exible databasemanagement and analytical system designed to meet the needs of asset owners, asset managers and their consultants. HIMS is capable of storing and analyzing dataon any type of asset with a particular emphasis on linearly referenced assets such aspavement, structures, 3Water (water, waste water and storm water), railways, power distribution lines and etc. HIMS was developed based on the “zero coding by

the end user” principle. HIMS offers most of its functionality to be congured by theend users more than any other Commercially Off the Shelf (COTS) systems of similarkind available in the market.

Project Management System (PROMAN)  is an off the shelf web based integratedProject / Contract management and monitoring and evaluation system. It is designedand developed on concept of multi tiered distributed architecture in order to provide

comprehensive, accurate and up-to-date Project/ contract management informationfor different target audiences throughout the organisation. PROMAN is a genericsystem and can be a “turn key” solution for many organizations with minimalconguration efforts. It enables the authorities to manage the contracts for CivilWorks, Goods and Consultancy Services right from the inception (planning) to closeout.

Network Optimised Decision Management (NODEM) system is designed for weighingpotential alternatives and making optimised decisions. NODEM is an open endedand standalone system that can be integrated with any other asset managementsystems such as RAMM, HANSEN, Conrm, NZdTIMS, HDM-4 and etc. The systemcan be congured to compare between different Levels of Service, so that its outputscan be discussed with community in making decisions as part of the LTCCPconsultation. NODEM is a non-asset specic software which can be applied to alltypes of infrastructure assets. NODEM can be used for the following:
