Does the merethought of tacklingyour weekly housecleaning chores ex-haust you? Unfortu-nately you can’teliminate the tasksentirely or you andyour house willquickly become thetalk of the neighbor-hood.
Don’t fret! Simplyincorporate thesequick cleaning tipsinto your routine tohelp make choresmore manageable.Daily MaintenanceGive the showerand bath a quickwipe down afterevery use. There areseveral daily shower
sprays on the marketthat will do the job.Keep a sponge orsqueegee in theshower, along withthe shower spray, toeliminate the build-up of soap scum andmold, which createsmore work later.
Within ReachDisinfectant wipes, even baby wipes, area great way toquickly clean some-thing when youmake a mess. Keepcanisters in thekitchen, bathroomand living room forquick and easy ac-cess. If they are inreach you are moreapt to clean up themess immediatelyrather than put it offuntil later.
Also, gatherall of thesuppliesyou willneed tocom-plete atask beforeyou begin. Putthem in a tote or bas-ket to carry aroundwith you as youclean. You willspend less time trav-eling from room toroom hunting downthe products youneed.
Spray and Walk Away
If you are doingheavy cleaning toyour bathroom orkitchen, just sprayand walk away.Cleaning productsare designed to dig
deep into thestain tohelp dis-solve itaway.Whenyou
spray andthen immediately
wipe it off, you arenot giving the prod-uct time to do its job.Thoroughly spraydown the areas youare cleaning andthen tend to anothertask. When you goback to the area tobe cleaned, theproduct will havedone most of thework, creating lessscrubbing for you.
Beat the ClockYou don’t have tocarve out an entireafternoon to take
care of your housecleaning. Set a timerfor 15 or 30 minutesand restrict your du-ties to that time pe-riod. You will findthat when you are“on the clock” youwill be more efficientand less distracted. What you don’t getdone in that timeframe can be saveduntil the next time.By scheduling yourduties in shorter seg-ments you won’t feelas if it has taken upas much of yourtime. For more informa-tion contact theMoore County HomeBuilders Associationat (910)944-2992 orvisit us online atwww.mchba.com.

(ARA) - The weatheris warm and the sun isshining, making it theperfect time to startyour home improve-ment projects. Whetherit's a little tidying up, ora full-on home repair, some tips will help youcomplete your projectswithout a lot ofheadaches.
Winning the battle against rustAs the sun begins toshine brighter, imper-fections around thehouse begin to appear.Metal products thathaven't been properlywinterized or have sim-ply been out in the ele-ments too long canbegin to show signs ofwear and tear, and
worst of all, rust. Com-bating rust can be areal challenge, and toooften, people wouldrather toss out therusty bench, gardentools or even the lawnmower and simply buysomething new. Protecting your itemsfrom rust is easy with alittle help from the newRust Protector spraypaint from Krylon. Itdries in just eight min-utes, so you don't haveto worry about grass, leaves or other parti-cles getting stuck inthe fresh coat of paint.Plus, it provides the ul-timate protectionagainst rust, keepingyour outdoor itemslooking like new, re-
gardless of the ele-ments they face.
Continue cleaningup outside
Give the outside ofyour house a little TLC.Start with the roof andgutters, since they'vecollected a lot ofbuildup and have expe-rienced their share ofwear and tear through-out the colder months. No one wants to spendhours dealing with in-side water damage orworse - mold. Stop thedrama before it startsby inspecting the roofand gutters and look-ing for damage suchas holes, loose shin-gles or leaks. And while you're out-side, give your siding a
glance, too. While youwere warm and toastyinside this past winter, the exterior of yourhouse was getting abeating. Cold weather, snow, ice and evenwind can cause prob-lems to the siding, sobe sure to address anyissues quickly.
Check for a cool breeze
It's probably been afew months since theair conditioner wasturned on, making nowthe perfect time tocheck that it's still run-ning smoothly. Your airconditioner is impor-tant because it not onlykeeps your home coolduring the hot summer;it also dehumidifies
your house and keepsmold from developinginside the walls. First, check the AC fil-ters and replace them ifthey appear dirty, sincea dirty filter can causestrain and damage toyour air conditioner bymaking it work harderthan necessary. Turnyour air conditioner onfor a test run; once ithas been running for awhile, check the refrig-erant levels by feelingthe pipe connected toyour AC unit. It shouldfeel cool to the touch -if it doesn't you may below on refrigerant andwill want to refill beforethe long, hot days ofsummer.
Make the
inside sparkleOutside projectsshouldn't get all yourattention. As you moveinside, start off withsmall cleaning projectsso you don't get over-whelmed. Scrubbingyour bathroom, vacu-uming your carpetsand dusting every inchof the house can takesome time - whichmost of us don't have.Simple tasks such ascleaning one room aday, clearing off clut-tered countertops asyou walk into thekitchen, creating an or-ganization system anddonating unused prod-ucts to charity can getyour house clean in notime.

In2011, the Club providedover 26,000 meals inSouthern Pines and over10,000 snacks in Aberdeen.
With the direction fromKathy Myron, the Directorof Communities in School,First School Garden Pro-gram, the Keller Williamsteam planted a salsa gardenfor the kids to water andwatch grow. “Kathy gaveus great direction on whatthe soiled needed, whatplants to have in the gar-den, and the idea of havinga salsa garden,” said ElaineRios, chairperson of KWCares—the committee thatorganized Keller WilliamsPinehurst’s RED Day. Thesalsa garden, planted at thefront of the Boys and GirlsClub, is completed withtomatoes, cucumbers, pep-pers, cilantro and chives.“It’s a great way that thekids can be involved withgrowing something theycan end up eating” saidJanet Dustin, committeemember of KW Cares.Other members of theKW Pinehurst team emp-tied, cleaned and reorgan-ized two storage rooms, scrubbed the kitchen andthe cafeteria, cleaned andorganized the computerand the homework room,
arranged for no-longer-needed documents to beshredded, put up a bulletinboard in the gym, and tookany unwanted items to theCoalition and Habitat forHumanity. “I loved howmany Keller Williamsagents showed up to help,”said Rios. “And the agentswho couldn’t make it do-nated items that wereneeded for the salsa gardenor items used to helpclean.”Even though RED Day isa designated day, the teamat Keller Williams isn’tplanning on making it theironly day at the Boys andGirls Club. Two agents,Angela Thompson andKim Stout, will be doing asculpture art project withthe children and will placethe finished project in thesalsa garden. And KellerWilliams Pinehurst agentswill revisit the Boys andGirls Club during the sum-mer when they can interactand spend some time withthe children and have thekids update them on thestatus of the salsa garden.
