Third Assembly of The Order of the Daughters of the Holy Cross The Third Assembly of The Order of the Holy Cross will be held this weekend, Sept. 13-16, at Church of the Holy Communion Anglican Pro Cathedral in Dallas. The theme is "Lead me, O Lord" with Archbishop Foley Beach as the keynote speaker as well as Celebrant during the Thursday evening Eucharist. Wednesday Bible Study The Wednesday morning 9:30 Bible study class will resume this Wednesday, September 12, as will the Wednesday 11:00 Mass. The class will begin the new school year with an overview and discussion of the Deuterocanonical books of Scripture, and where they fit in the bigger picture of Old Testament literature.
40 Days for Life 40 Days for Life is a peaceful prayer campaign focused on bringing about an end to abortion through three key components: prayer and fasting, community outreach, and a constant, peaceful Prayer Vigil. For 40 days this fall, from Sept. 27 through Nov. 5, people from all over will be praying and fasting (which can be done at home) for an end to abortion. Hospitality “Coffee Hour” is held every Sunday morning from 10:15-11:00 in the Parish Hall. Stop by after the 9:00 service or before the 11:15 for the fellowship. Visitors are especially welcome!
Nursery Nursery for infants through age 5 is located at the east end of the Education wing. Ask an usher for directions. The nursery is open from 8:50 -12:30.
Catechesis of the Good Shepherd and
Teen & Adult Catechesis
Proper catechesis for kids preschool thru senior high is held Sept-May following the 9:00 am mass. Adult classes are offered at the same time in the Guild Parlor.

Counseling Office Fr. Bob Bosworth, Ph.D. is on staff as Clinical Pastoral Counselor for

Low-Gluten Hosts St. John’s offers low-gluten (less than 0.01%) communion wafers on request. If you have a gluten intolerance issue please speak with one of the clergy.
Joining St. John’s? Just fill out the New Member Registration Form found on the wall rack in the Narthex or in the Office. If you are Anglican or Episcopalian we will process a letter of transfer for you. If you are from another denomination, you will be registered as a baptized communicant and we’ll let you know when the next Inquirers Class begins. If you are not yet baptized, please see Fr. Welcome Dinner The vestry is hosting a “Welcome Dinner” for those new to our Parish Family. This dinner will be held on Friday, September 21, 2018. A “meet & greet” with great conversation begins at 6:00 pm with wine and cheese and non-alcoholic beverages in the Guild Parlor. Dinner will be served at 7:00 pm. You will be on your way home by 8:30 pm. The meal is prepared by Feastivities Gourmet Catering. Reservations required. Please RSVP by Tuesday, Sept 18th. Invitations have been mailed, but we may not have everyone’s contact information. Joe T’s Stewardship Dinner, Wed, Oct. 3 St. John’s annual Stewardship Dinner at Joe T Garcia’s in the Stockyards will be held on Wednesday, October 3rd. Fellowship starts at 6:00 with dinner at 7:00. Cost is $14 for adults and $9 for children 12 and under. Reservation forms have been mailed. If you have not received your form, you can contact the office, or sign up in Mitchell Hall during Coffee Hour.
Daughters of the Holy Cross Meeting Today DHC/DOK will meet today after the 11:15 Service. Kristy Leaseburg will be sharing about her recent trip to Jerusalem and also her time at the GAFCON meeting. Dues will be collected. Bring a sack lunch.
