from their lives of slavery?3) One title of God is El Shaddai, which means what?4) Who wrote the most books in the New Testament?5) How many loaves of bread did Jesus use to feed five thou-

find in his statue?
L IFE CALLS FOR A LOT of patience and trust. You can't plant an acorn today and expect to sit in the
shade of an oak tree tomorrow. The same holds true for spiritual matters. We have to make the effort. But then we must be patient and trust that God's grace will take over.Lord, you make the just flourish like trees that are planted by a running stream. Lord, have mercy. You plant them in the house of the Lord, to flourish in the courts of our God. Christ, have mercy. You make them bear fruit even when they are old. Lord, have mercy.

WHY DO CATHOLICS DO THAT?Devotions For Each of UsThe graces we get from the Mass are essential, but some-times we feel called to do more to keep God always in our thoughts throughout the day. That’s when we can draw on devotions – external religious practices not part of the official liturgy of the Catholic Church. There are so many from which to choose and they can be as unique as we are. Something for everyone. The more devotions we know, the more we can use. Popular choices include the Rosary, novena, adoration before the Blessed Sacrament, and celebra-tions in honor of Jesus and the Saints.Grow in love. Devotions are designed to help us experience God in everyday life. Their regular use helps us to see God anew and fall in love with Him more each day. Find one – or more – that works for you. THE SEED THAT GROWS BY ITSELFOn many an idle day have I grieved over lost time. But it is never lost, my Lord. You have taken every moment of my life in your own hands. Hidden in the heart of things you are nourishing seeds into sprouts, buds into blossoms, and ripening f lowers into fruitfulness.I was tired and sleeping on my idle bed and imagining all work had ceased. In the morning I woke up and found my garden full with wonders of f lowers.

UPDATED PROTOCOLS FROM BISHOP SOTOBishop Soto has announced changes in the safety protocols for the celebration of Holy Mass. Starting on June 18 sacramental and worship services may seat 100% of seating capacity in the church. The general dispensation from attending Sunday Mass has been rescinded. Unless you are sick, have a vulnerable health condition, are caring for someone with a vulnerable health condition, or have other serious reasons, you are obligated to attend the celebration of the Sacrifice of the Mass. We will still be following the public health protocols of frequent hand washing and use of sanitizer, refraining from physical contact and shaking of hands, and wearing of facial masks is encouraged. The distribution of the communion cup is still suspended. Congregational singing may resume, as well as the entrance and recessional procession, and the procession of the offertory gifts. Holy Water is now available in the fonts. The video mass will remain available for those who are still unable to attend Mass in person.
