Reflection from the Pastor:

Today’s Gospel connects Jesus’ living Presence with his disciples in three

ways: in the Eucharist, through forgiveness of sins and through the Sacred

Scriptures. The disciples on the road to

Emmaus recognize Jesus in the breaking

of the bread, the distinctive way that Jesus

changed the Passover meal to be a sign of

his New Covenant with us. He becomes

really and truly present in the Blessed

Sacrament. Jesus also brings peace to his

disciples by taking away their sins. The

sacrament of Penance is Jesus’ continued

gift of peace to us. Finally, God’s plan of

salvation is announced to us through the

Sacred Scriptures. In them, we find out

how much God loves us and how He wishes to be with us and save us. We

are called to announce the Good News of Jesus’ living Presence to all the

world!

¡Estamos llamados a
