Excel Public Charter School 2018-19 Uniform Policy Excel students are required to wear an Excel uniform. Excel believes that a uniform dress code helps maintain a school culture of unity and academic excellence. Our students wear uniforms to make it easier for families, avoid the inevitable distractions and status distinctions caused by clothing, and ensure that our students are focused on learning.

Uniform Tops with Excel Logo (XS – XXL):

7th Grade: Gray Polo ($15)

8th Grade: Gold Polo ($15)

High School: Light blue oxford button-up ($24) Sweatshirts with Excel Logo (XS – XXL):

Navy blue sweatshirt with Excel Logo ($12) Pants, capris, shorts, or skirts

● Solid khaki, black, or navy only (no sweat pants, leggings, jeans, or athletic wear).

● No embellishments/adornments other than cargo pockets.

● Bottoms must be worn at waist. ● Shorts and skirts must be at or below the knee.

Shoes

● Mostly brown or black ● All shoes must have a CLOSED TOE. No stiletto

heels, flip-flops, slippers, boots, or slides.

Long-sleeved undershirts

Solid colors only. No patterns, prints, logos or hoods. Outerwear (jackets/coats)

No outerwear worn in the building. Hooks are provided in each classroom for student use.

Accessories

No visors, hats, or sunglasses in the building. *In general, clothing must be neat in appearance and worn appropriately. Items may not be tight, oversized, or revealing. PE Attire

To be worn during PE only.

Athletic shorts to the knee

Solid color T-Shirt. No patterns, prints, logos or hoods.

Sneakers (any)

Purchasing Uniform Items

Uniform polos and sweatshirts are available for purchase at Excel during regular office hours or at Back to School Night (August 22nd). Please note that uniform orders may take up to 3 weeks to arrive if we sell out of your student’s size. Because of this, students may wear a solid colored polo shirt and follow the uniform policy for bottoms and shoes during the first weeks of school. If your family needs financial assistance to purchase uniforms, please let us know by calling 253-487-7530.

Excel Public Charter School 2018-19 School Supplies The materials below are required or recommended. Please note that in the first weeks of school, teachers will inform students of the organization systems in their classroom. For example, in different courses students may use either a binder, a notebook, or a folder. If the cost of the required materials is a barrier for your student, please notify school staff. Planners will also be provided to students in the first month of school.
