PREFACE
Solapur city is located in South-eastern region of Maharashtra (17.68000 N and
75.92000 E). The district shares its borders with South Indian states of Karnataka and
Telangana. City has population that speaks Marathi, Kannada, Telugu, Tamil and
Hindi languages with multilingual features. City was previousely known as
Manchester of East due to textile industries manufacturing Chaddars and Towels.
Majority of the population belongs to economically weaker labour class. Now the
region is flourishing as educational hub due to establishment of institutes imparting
diverse education in academic and professional areas.
Established in 1885, our trust ‘Shri Aillak Pannalal Digambar Jain Pathashala,
Solapur, is one of the oldest educational institutions in India. Great Industrialist late
Shriman Sheth Walchand Hirachand Doshi and their family were the Key founders of
the Trust. The trust inherits illustrious background of its founding fathers who were
people of great eminence in science, technology, social science and business. They
were the people who established first modern shipyard, first aircraft factory,
first car factory; construction companies, sugarcane plantations, sugarcane factories,
confectioneries, engineering companies, many other businesses and educational
institutes. The trust caters and nourishes the spirit of Shraman Culture and Gurukul
education Pattern. Our philosophy is ‘Shikshan Haach Dharma’- i.e Education is
Religion. In addition to running various schools and high schools to impart primary
and secondary level education, our trust also offers truly global education by
providing a broad spectrum of academic environments in the form of Junior, UG &
PG courses in the streams of Arts, Commerce, Science, Educaiton, Engineering,
Management, Social Work, Computer Applications, etc.
In 1972, Commerce College was started as Sholapur College of Commerce, Solapur
to cater to the needs of the citizens in Commerce faculty. In 1979, the College was
renamed as Hirachand Nemchand College of Commerce, Solapur. The college was
accredited B+ in September 2004 and reaccredited with the celebrated ‘A’ grade in
March 2011 by NAAC and it was a proud moment as our college was first to receive
such a distinction under Solapur University, Solapur as a Single Faculty College.

Our College has evolved as a leading college in higher education for Commerce and
Pioneer in Management Educaiton in Solapur District. For generations of students,
from this region of Western Maharashtra with Poor Educational as well as economical
background, our college stands as a leading light to fulfill their aspiration to seek
knowledge in Commerce and Management. With changing times our Management
has made concrete efforts in providing advanced infrastructural facilities to provide
good teaching-learning environment for all.

PRINCIPAL’S MESSAGE
I feel extremely happy in submitting ‘Self Study Report’ for Third Cycle of
accreditation. Our College was reaccredited with celebrated ‘A’ grade by NAAC in
March 2011. With the completion of 43 years of excellent Academia and Career, the
Hirachand Nemchand College of Commerce, Solapur is marching ahead preserving
the traditions set by founders and simultaneously implementing the advanced and
latest facilities as per the requirement or demand of time. With our motto of ‘Shikshan
Haach Dharma’- i.e Education is Religion we are ready to embrace newer challenges
in education sector at local, national and global level. The college has stood the test of
time and has emerged as a leading custodian of higher education in the vicinity and
region. The guidelines set by UGC, NAAC, DTE, AICTE and affiliating University
have given us a direction in fulfilling our vision and mission. Self Study Report (SSR)
showcases our Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities and Challenges reflecting the
overall functioning and efficiency in effective transition of teaching, learning process.
The exercise has helped in putting united efforts in compiling key-aspects of the
functioning during post accreditation period with a sense of satisfaction.
We could achieve this due to sustained efforts put together by faculty members,
students and our stakeholders under the solid support, guidance and encouragement of
our committed and visionary Management, Local Management Committee, Alumni
and Administrative Staff.
Some of our initiatives in quality enhancement and sustenance are given below.

Continued enhancement in student strength and results.
Promoting inclusive education with higher number of students from minority
and girls students.
Strengthening of Teaching – Learning processes through MoUs with various
organization.

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
During the last five years, after NAAC reaccreditation of second cycle, the college
has made systematic efforts to build excellence in teaching, learning, research and
extension activities. The college is spearheading a slow but steady transformation in
education with 3 UG and 2 PG courses. During the academic year 2015-16, a total of
1649 students were admitted in the college.
Our college is surging ahead in the right direction under the stewardship and
collective wisdom of learned and able Management. They have taken efforts to fulfill
short term as well as long term goals through establishing advanced infrastructure and
appointing acclaimed academicians.
Emergence of NAAC accreditation has proved as a landmark step in Indian education
system. NAACs pre-condition of functional IQAC at HEIs has made visible
transformation through steps leading to quality sustenance and enhancement. In fact,
NAAC role in assessment and accreditation of colleges served in realization of
institutional vision, mission and objectives. The recommendations made by NAAC
Peer Team acted as guidelines for marching ahead to provide an all inclusive
atmosphere for holistic education that not only focuses on employability but also
strives to uphold Knowledge, Character, Service, Management and Love. The
performance appraisal of the college based on seven criteria is summarized below.
CRITERION-I: CURRICULAR ASPECTS
More than 20% of teachers contribute in Design and Development of
University Curriculum as Chairman/Sub-committee Members on Board of
Studies (BOS), Solapur University, Solapur and other Universities.
Staffs have contributed in Design and Development of Curriculum for in-
house Career Oriented Certificate Courses.
Faculty members hold positions and are represented as members in University
Senate, Local Inquiry Committee (LIC), Research and Recognition Committee
(RR) and as Subject Experts. These members play important role in
curriculum design and update through interactions and suggestions received
through various meetings.

3 UG and 2 PG offer enough flexibility and vertical mobility under regular
and self-financed programmes.
Curricula of all subjects are updated under semester and CGPA schemes
introduced by University.
Regular feedback on curriculum is obtained from students and stakeholders.
College level Committee involves students and external stakeholders in
getting feedback on curriculum for its further upgradation. These suggestions
are conveyed to University BOS.
Substantial number of Faculty Members has participated in ‘Workshops on
Revised Syllabus’.
Management of the college has taken effective steps for curriculum delivery
and transaction through establishment and provision of Language Laboratory,
Smart Classroom and Video Conferencing facility, Projectors, Television Sets.
CRITERION-II: TEACHING-LEARNING AND EVALUATION
Student diversity and accommodation is visible with higher proportion of
students from economically weaker sections, reserved category, minorities and
more than 50% students as girl students.
Admission process follows rules laid by the Affiliation Agencies such as
UGC, University, DTE, AICTE. Admission are based on merits of Academic
Performance, common entrance examination, interview and group discussion
as applicable to the respective courses.
20% teachers possess Ph.D. qualification, 18% are PG with NET/SET and rest
have PG qualification.
Teachers contributions are recognized at regional with awards and honors.
33 teachers are employed on full time, temporary and part time basis for
dealing with PG courses.
Introduction of semester, CGPA pattern allows for continuous evaluation of
students. Additionally, college level tests are conducted for internal

evaluation. Evaluation methods involve class assignments, tutorials, oral
examinations, research project submission, Case Studies, Seminars, etc.
Teachers use ICT enabled teaching-learning process through e-resources,
power point presentations, softwares, smart classroom, video-conferencing
etc.
We organize a large number field visits, excursion tours, industrial visits, skill
development programmes and special counselling and expert lecture sessions
for effective delivery of course curriculum.
Average passing results for last five years are above 71.5 % for all
programmes.
CRITERION-III: RESEARCH, CONSULTANCY AND EXTENSION
College Research Committee promotes and monitors progress of research
work. 09 Minor Research Projects are undertaken.
Total outlay of Minor Research projects was Rs.6,82,000=00.
01 University recognized research guides.
Faculty conduct interdisciplinary and inter-institutional research work and the
outcomes are visible through substantial number of publications in various
National, international and peer reviewed journals.
More than 170 publications were published, of which 60 are published in
International Journals, 53 in National Journals and 64 in proceedings.
1 book with ISBN number is published during last five years.
Formal MoU established with 10 various different organizations.
Consultancy Cell exists and offers formal and informal consultancy. In last
five years through consultancy services our college has raised amount to a
tune of Rs. 1,50,000=00. Consultancy services were offered in areas of Market
surveys, Sales Promotion, etc.
NSS, NCC, Student Associations for Marketing, Finance, Commerce, HR,
International Business conduct wide range of extension activities. An average
of 100 activities are organized annually to address issues of Gender,

Environment, Save Girl Child, Water Conservation, Wild Life, Blood
Donation, Professional Skills, practical exposure, etc.
Considerable numbers of the staff members serve as resource persons in
various institutes.
CRITERION- IV: INFRASTRUCTURE AND LEARNING RESOURCES
Adequate infrastructure is provided for Teaching, Learning, IT, Extension,
Sports, Hostel and Cultural activities.
College Management has provided separate hostels for Girls and Boys.
Library, Computer, Ladies Room, Recreation Hall and sufficient Parking Area
facilities are available.
College has utilized adequate funds for maintenance and creation of newer
facilities through establishment of Smart Classroom, CCTVs, RO Water,
Language Laboratory, Rainwater Harvesting Unit, Solar Panels, Newer
Furniture and Repairs, Purchase of Newer Equipments, Building Maintenance,
Annual Maintenance Contracts (A.M.C.) of computers and their Insurance.
Sufficient amount has been invested for maintenance and creation of newer
facilities of infrastructure.
Considerable numbers of Faculty Members are involved in Research and
Extension work and academic ambience conducive for teaching-learning is
maintained.
Library has more than 62000 books of which 46335 are reference books.
Additionally, 100 e-books, 6000 e-journals, 62 journals and magazines,
CDs/DVDs, e-databases on books, notes, powerpoint presentations hosted by
staff for exchange with students, large collection of books on Competitive
Examination and fully automated library with Internet and Reprography
facility.
Library has a Students’ Reading Room, Staff Reading Zone and Departmental
Library Facility in Management Department. College library provides
Interlibrary Connectivity, Book-bank Scheme and Parents and Senior Citizen
Book Scheme, Library organizes annually Book Exhibition.

Centralized Internet Facility and Language Laboratory. Additionally, all
sections have net connectivity through LAN. While, Wi-Fi facilities is
provided at Boys and Girls hostel.
An auditorium with 400 seating capacity, 02 Seminar Halls, 02 Playgrounds,
Gymnasium, outdoor and indoor game facility, canteen, separate Boys and
Girls Hostel, Mess, RO Water facility, Generator Backup, Guest House and
Quarters are available.
A separate Competitive Examination Coaching Centre (CECC), in
collaboration with sister institute Walchand College of Arts and Science offers
coaching on competitive examination.
CRITERION-V: STUDENT SUPPORT AND PROGRESSION
Percentage of students progression in B.Com. / B.B.A. / B.C.A. Courses is
moderate with 60% students opting for higher education.
Overall passing percentage is praiseworthy with 71.5%.
A large number of students occupy merit positions in University.
Dropout rate is less than 2%.
Various types of scholarships, freeships are timely distributed to
SCs/STs/OBCs and others.
College has instituted a unique scheme- the ‘Teacher Sponsored-Student Aid
Fund (TS-SAF)’ as an aid to needy and poor students for continuation of
education and to reduce dropout rate.
College encourages various skills through 2 Career Oriented Cerificate
Courses (COCs) and a substantial number of students have benefitted with the
same.
The college provides support through SAF, Earn and Learn Scheme,
Mentoring Scheme and TS-SAF. In addition to providing monetary aid these
schemes also provide personal guidance to students.

The college conducts Bridge Courses and offers opportunities for advanced
learners through various forums like CECC, Various Student Assocaitions,
Cultural Unit, NSS, Learning by Doing process, etc.
Our Parent Trust’s Management publishes a quarterly Global Connect to
highlight academic, curricular and extra curricular achievements of all
colleges run under trust. The College publishes ‘Hira.Com’ wall magazine and
an Annual Magazine ‘Hira’ to encourage students publish their creativity. The
Annual Magazine ahs bagged number of University Awards for different
sections.
The college has outstanding performance in extension, social outreach
activities and in sports. Cultural Department has shown growing performance
with bagging awards in different events in University Youth Festival events.
Additionally, students have secured many prizes in cultural events.
The College has maintained high level of participation of students at various
levels in team and individual events and displayed exemplary performance.
Couple of students have participated in National and International events and
brought glory to the College along with the country.
CRITERION-VI: GOVERNANCE, LEADERSHIP AND MANAGEMENT:
S.A.P.D.Jain Pathashala is one of the oldest and well known educational trusts
in Maharashtra and caters to the needs of inclusive higher education in Arts,
Science, Commerce, Social Sciences, Education, and Engineering.
The Management is committed and has clear vision of present and future
growth in education through its vision-2020 Document.
Principal and IQAC act as a bridge between Local Management Committee
(LMC) and Governing Council.
Organizational hierarchy is well defined with Governing Council guiding and
Principal coordinating and monitoring down the line. 35 College level
Committees work concertedly and have necessary freedom to implement
decentralized governance. Some of the committees have ‘Student
Representative’ including IQAC Unit and strategies are developed collectively

through the involvement of Heads and coordinators of various Departments.
Student Council plays major role in smooth conduction of literary and cultural
activities.
IQAC Cell and Vision-2020 committee prepares short term and long term
perspective plans and management considers most of our suggestions for
implementation.
Performance Appraisal of Staff is assessed regularly and most of the
promotion cases of staff are cleared for Career Advancement Scheme (CAS).
Credit Co-operative Society provides varied Loan Facilities and other saving
schemes. Group Insurance and Medical Insurance is schemes are availed by
staff. Pension documents of retired staff are processed timely and service
details are maintained up-to date. Most of the staff vacancies are filled and
Management has appointed required number of full time teachers on
temporary and contractual basis for UG and PG .
College makes available various Staff Welfare Schemes and motivates
teachers to avail FIPs and participate in Orientation, Refresher, Summer and
Winter Training, Short Term Training programmes etc. Necessary leaves are
sanctioned for improving their academic and professional skills.
Our college has received funding from various schemes of UGC and also
through self-funded courses and college fees as financial resources.
College has system for Internal and External Auditing from Government
Auditor. The last audit report received in 2015 carried no major objections.
Office and financial work are fully automated with CMS Software.
IQAC acts as a template between Management and College and provides
inputs for sustenance of quality in each sphere of college activity. IQAC
prepares annual AQAR report for timely submission to NAAC, Bengaluru.
CRITERION-VII: INNOVATIONS AND BEST PRACTICES
More than 50% of students belong to SC/ST/OBC/Minority category.
Security is provided through Close Circuit Cameras, security personnel and
compound wall to the whole campus.

Green Auditing is performed for conservation of nature and natural resources
for sustainable future.
Effective steps were taken to recharge rainwater through installation of
Rainwater Harvesting.
Steps were taken to save energy through use of CFL and Fluorescent Tubes.
Solar Panels were installed as a source of renewable energy.
Efforts were made for ‘Carbon Neutrality’ through Tree Plantation, practicing
use of one-side blank pages for printing, Zero Waste and Plastic Free Campus.
Most of the biodegradable waste is recycled in ‘Vermicomposting Unit’.
College conducts a large number steps to promote message of Eco-mission
through direct participation of staff and students.
The College has introduced Teacher-Sponsored-Student Aid Fund (TS-SAF),
Mentoring Scheme, Publication of Student edited Magazine: the ‘HIRA’,
Field Placement and Experience sharing of Industry Experts as Best Practices.

The Commerce Association, catering the needs of the students with its
established goals, conducts different activities or events through-out the year.
The College realizes the importance of promoting the use of technology in its
routine work hence the office and the library of the College has been
computerized. All the necessary soft-wares have been introduced in the library
to facilitate the transactions. The College has taken efforts in getting the

The NSS & NCC units teach the student the importance of selfless service and

NCC Unit

Gender issues
Since the college has more the 50% of female students, Women empowerment
has been an important issues in the delivery of curriculum as efforts are taken
to make girl students competent enough to face the challenges of the society.
Gender sensitisation programmes like self defence camp, yoga camp and health check
up camps for girls, various competitions on gender equality, guest lectures on laws for
protection of women etc are organised to build confidence in women and make them
independent and self-supportive.
The college actively participated in the Special Programme of the Government of
Maharashtra “Jagar Janivancha” which aimed at gender equality and bringing
awareness among girl students. Other programmes conduced include - Essay, poster

Through NCC, NSS Cultural Unit, students are made aware of their social
responsibilities towards climatic changes resulting in natural calamities, depletion of
Ozone layer etc. Awareness about these is created by organising essay, poster
competitions, designing cover theme of the college magazine. Students also
contributed to earthquake victims. Rallies and guest lectures are also arranged
Environment Education:
Environment education is introduced through various projects, lectures,
participation in rallies, tree plantation drives, celebration of Ozone day, World
Environment day, Cleanliness drive.
A number of activities were undertaken by HNCC students in line with their
commitment to serve the society as alert and eco-friendly members of the
society. Prominent among these include participation in the cleanliness drive
by NSS volunteers and students during Ganesh Immersion and Gadda Fair.
The students created awareness among the public and devotees to adopt eco-
friendly measures of disposal of garland, flowers and other holy offerings
(Nirmalya). The students collected the Nirmalya from the devotees brought
during Ganesh Immersion and in a way contributed to avoid water pollution.
Similarly, during the Gadda Fair, an appeal was made by students to stall
owners to maintain cleanliness. They also collected the garbage and separated
bio-gradable waste and thus contributed to maintain eco-friendly waste
management. These activities were conducted in collaboration with Young
Inspirators’ Network of Daily Sakal.
M.B.A. students prepared and presented survey based report entitled – “A
study on practices and challenges of Waste Management System in
Solapur City”.
M.B.A. students visited various schools in Solapur and created awareness
about environmental issues amongst the school students.
The Environment Studies course introduced by Solapur University at Part II
level of UG courses also provides exposure to students on environment issues.

activities like digging septic tanks, etc organised by NSS Unit during the
Annual Camp also educates students on environment issues
Human Rights:
elebration of Sanvidhan Day ( 26th November), organising essay, elocution and poster
competitions on National Integration, guest lectures, street plays on human rights and
national integration issues, voters awareness programme etc.
Homage is paid to National Leaders to cherish the memories of their contributions
towards nation building and fight for human rights.
Display of the “Preamble of the constitution of India” in college premises is also an
attempt to educate students on this issue.
Use of ICT devices:-
To make the lecture method effective modern devices like LCD & OHP are used
wherever necessary by all the departments.
The students are encouraged to use these devices while making their presentations.
ICT devices like computer, internet, TV, Educational CDs are also made available to
teachers & students which help students to keep abreast with current affairs by surfing
through different business and news channels.

Value based education for the ethical development of students is imparted through

category students and reservations in the admission seats are specifically conveyed to

The college provides conductive environment for women so HNCC is the most sought
after college by girl students. As the college provides safe and secureenvironment in
the campus, near to 50% of the total students of the college are girls. The college also
provides hostel facility to girl students.
Teachers’ Fund for Student Aid scheme has been initiated by college staff with the
aimtosupport economically weaker section of students by offering them various kinds
of supports like admission fees, examination fees, purchase of dress, note books,
college bag etc. Students who are economically weak and who have an urge to pursue
studies are identified by faculty so that no student drops education for want of money.

commencement of Second Year of MBA program. A self-assessment is undertaken
from the view of students’ employability in the industry.
The assessment evaluates students on various parameters such as Communication
(Oral & written), IT Knowledge (Internet, Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Aptitude
(Logical, Mathematical, Reasoning, Data Interpretation, English), Mannerism
(Personality, Body Language, Politeness), Subject Knowledge and General
Knowledge. The student rates himself/herself on a scale of 1 to 5 from Poor to Best
which is re-evaluated by the concerned placement coordinator.
This self evaluation is used to design programs for students where they are given
inputs to overcome their weaknesses through practice exercises designed for

Students are also made to undertake self-preferences in respect of industry and role to
make a career in. Accordingly, industry and role specific orientation is provided.
For students at the UG level, assessment is done on the basis of the report submitted
by the Result Analysis Committee. The students who have scored low percentage of
marks in the previous examination are identified before the commencement of the
next programme/class to which they are admitted. Accordingly the subject teachers
guide them at the time of admission to select the medium of instruction and orient
them about the new subjects.

Bridging of knowledge gap of newly enrolled students is done by employing various
approaches to enable them to cope with the programme of their choice. The initiatives
undertaken by college are as follows:
All the courses under the Management studies department (MBA, BBA and BCA)
enroll students from diversified academic background i.e. Arts, Science, Commerce,
etc). The curriculum includes subjects which are new to some or other students which
they have never being taught during their education till then. To help these students to
cope with the requirements of the programme chosen, students are provided with
bridge module of the subject. e.g. Students enrolling for MBA from stream other than
Commerce are new to Accountancy subject. A Foundation course in Accounting,
covering Book Keeping to Final Accounts is conducted for such students to ensure
that they rise to a level of understanding the regular accounting subject.
Group exercises are conducted in relation to subjects such as Accountancy, Statistics,
Financial Management, Operations Management, etc. for providing students with
variety of problems in the subject and make them discuss and solve the problems.
‘Remedial Coaching’ is offered for slow learners and individual guidance is offered to
enhance their understanding.
Various associations, as per students’ area of specialization andareas of interest, are

a. To ensure resource availability for academic excellence, students are provided
with additional reference books, book loan facility through which the set of all
books of the semester subjects are issued for the whole semester.This book
loan facility is apart from the library subscription through which a student can
borrow two reference books every week for additional knowledge. The library
also subscribes number of national and international journals and magazines,
accessible to students for library reading and gain knowledge of the world.
b. Students are provided additional facilities like Computer and internet and
encouragingthem to use ICT to resolve their queries.
c. Students are encouraged to write articles for college magazine ‘Hira’ and to
develop their skills and talent throughelocution, debate, poster, essay and quiz
competition etc.
d. The faculty guides and helps students to solve more question papers for
additional practice by providing stimulating exercises and challenging
assignments.
e. Motivating to participate in college/intercollegiate and inter universitylevel
competitions, seminars, group discussions, etc.
f. Students are also made to undertake self-preferences in respect of industry and
role to make career in. They are guided to identify their goals and the areas of

specific orientation is provided.

i. The students of BBA and MBA are provided with a copy of Daily English
Business Newspaper to let them be updated with the current happenings in the
corporate world and the economy on National and global Scenario. This also
gives them food for thought for different issues and understanding different
viewpoints in respect of the same. Periodic information Analysis and sharing
sessions are conducted to allow students share their viewpoints in respect of
the news or information they come across during the course of time.

To prevent the drop out possibility of students, the College executes measures in
terms of guiding students, providing infrastructural facilities, giving additional help
on the campus, providing earn and learn scheme for these students.
The academic performance of students after each semester is analyzed to understand
the weaker subjects of the student. These students are counseled on the way of study
of the particular subject for re-attempt of subject from University examination
clearance objective.
Students interested in a particular area for career are guided so as to understand the
working of the particular industry or role so that they can use this knowledge for
better performance in examinations as well as during the selection processes.
In view that no student should drop his/her education for short of money, all faculty
of our college has initiated Teacher Sponsored-Student Aid Fund (TS-SAF), in which
each faculty contribute some amount that is distributed for students’ academic needs
so that students stick to their education. In addition to above scheme, the college also
offers ‘Earn & Learn Scheme’ in which students help is taken in office and library
work and accordingly incentives are given on the basis of their contribution. The
above schemes are launched by college in addition to regular scholarships offered
under Government Schemes and college Student Aid Fund (SAF).

2.3. TEACHING-LEARNING PROCESS:-
2.3.1 How does the college plan and organize the teaching, learning
andevaluation schedules?
a) Academic Calendar: - The academic calendar is prepared well in advance of
next academic session. It carries approximate schedules regarding teaching,
examination, curricular activities, extra-curricular activities and other details
of each semester. The academic calendar is displayed on notice board for
reference of students and staff.
b) Teaching Plan: - Teaching plan is prepared by individual teachers from each
department in consultation with Heads and colleagues. The teaching plan
carries details regarding month-wise details of units to be covered. Faculty
members of the management department divide the syllabus into session
modules and plans the coverage of subject syllabus in teaching plan along with
conduct of case studies, subject seminars, tasks assignment to students, etc
c) Evaluation: - The college conducts regular tests to monitor the progress of the
students. Schedules of internal and external evaluation prepared by the
Examination Committee are displayed on the notice board before
commencement of the unit test and semester examination. Students’
performance is evaluated as per university norms. The internal evaluation is
done on the basis of Class & home assignments, case studies, group exercises,
library exercises, seminar presentations etc. Individual subject wise faculty
members decide the evaluation pattern for the above internal assessment
elements.
d) Review of implementation: Review meetings are held at the end of every term
The implementation of academic planning is reviewed to ensure that
curriculum is completed within the time frame.The progress of teaching and
learning is reviewed throughstaff meetings called by HOD/ Principal.
e) Feedback: Feedback on syllabus completion is taken from the students too. To
prevent delays in completion of the curriculum due to reasons like leave, the
faculty engages extra classes to cover the missed class. In case of long leave,
the College makes substitute arrangement.

Mentoring Scheme:
Objectives: To promote development of the student through personalized education
for holistic development by establishing home-college collaboration.
Under this initiative started by the Management Department, a mentor, who is a
member of the college teaching staff is assigned with 12-15 students each and
personal relationship based on trust and confidence is forged between the mentor and
the student through periodic conversations.
The mentor is responsible for offering academic, personal and psycho-social guidance
as per the need of student. Based on the mentoring, parent of the student are regularly
informed about students’ progress and their behavioral lapses in person.
Number of beneficiaries: 100% students are given some sort of personal guidance
from the mentor teacher.
Teacher Sponsored Student Aid Fund (TS-SAF):
Objectives: To identify, counsel and render necessary help to students who may
discontinue their education due to their personal, academic and social problems.
Under this innovative programme all our teachers unanimously came forward with a
genuine motive to help poor and needy students. The basic aim is that ‘no student
should drop his/her education for the want of money, personal and social problems’.
This initiative works in following steps.
Applications are invited from students who wish to avail support, guidance
and help from TS-SAF scheme.
The applications are then scrutinized to verify the needs and demands of

The committee members then identify the nature of problems the students face
(personal, academic and social) and they are counseled accordingly and after proper
verification, the students are given the required support so that they will continue their

SAF and till date more than 50 students have received support through this scheme.
Institute- Industry Interactions
Sessions are organized to make students aware of the different career opportunities
available and to share a firsthand experience of successful people. Such sessions are
open for all the students of the concerned department which has organized it.
Self CareProgrammes for girls: Objectives: To focus especially on self development of girl students in the college. Programmes,especially for girl students, are organized with the objective to make
them physically and mentally strong, confident and capable to face the challenges of
the world independently and boldly. Students register their names for participation in
the programmes and certificate of participation is issued.
Guest lecture programmes are open for all girl students where in an expert is invited
to talk on issues related to health and security.
Addressing various issues through organization of seminars, workshops, training etc.
which ultimately help girl students to excel them in academics and also address their
personal problems.
Number of Beneficiaries: Each year more than 300-400 students are benefitted

programme was organized in association with Family Planning Association of

Career Counseling is one of the major activities undertaken by the institute for all
students right before enrollment i.e. opting for CET and completing the process to

with and bringing opportunities to campus accordingly.
Students are also helped in selection of subject of specialization for their academics
based on their strengths, career objectives and life goals, industry requirement, etc.

Students are assigned Library exercise for every subject for which they are expected
to search published content in newspapers, journals and periodicals with respect to the
topic allocated. Also students are expected to share important and interesting news
during mentoring sessions with the peer group to ensure more information being made
available to the whole group. Students are motivated to read
biographies/autobiographies/stories of successful managerial personalities and
entrepreneurs to take inspiration from it.
For various subject seminars, student are allocated topics other than but related to the
curriculum for presentations. Students are induced to undergo through various
journals and magazines to extract information for presentation in such seminars. This
ensures that students utilize the library resources for gathering information and
knowledge.
The book loan facility and library subscription provided to the students ensure
increased utilization of library resources. Moreover, during examination period, issue
of books s doubled on subscription basis having increased resources for the students
to prepare for the examination.
The project reports of past students are kept for reference in the library which is
accessible to the students. This helps in understanding older findings of related topics,
the project report presentation structure, etc.

other responsibilities/assignments/ reason, the curriculum is completed by planning
lectures on Sundays and conducting extra sessions for completion of the syllabus.

a. The college monitors and evaluates teaching-learning process through class
assignments, quizzes, MCQs and their responses in classroom.
b. Feedback from Students: Feedback is taken from students on teacher quality

and matters arising are addressed through Principal and IQAC coordinator.
Regular oral feedbacks are taken either for the whole class or random students
to understand what students opine regarding the teaching of various faculty
members. However, term wise, formal feedback of the whole class, is

c. Internal Examination System: Each department conducts departmental tests on
regular basis and based on evaluation, students are informed about their

briefed about the status of progress made by each student during mentoring

results to understand the class wise performance the best, average, lowest
scores and the number of students unable to score minimum passing scores.

The college offers excellent academic environment that encourages staff to achieve its
core values of Knowledge, Character, Service, Management and Love and to embark
for its mission of building youth through humanistic approach, demystification of
The college undertakes an assessment of student results through Result Analysis. This
allows individual teacher to use assessment of each student performance in their
subject. College level internal examinations allow for continuous monitoring of
progress of the students. For some courses, assessment is also based on viva-voce,
research project, field based studies, field placements, orientation visits. Additionally,
results of internal examination are compared and discussed with the students.
Example:
Mentoring Scheme: - The mentoring scheme begins with the commencement of
academic year and continues till the end of graduation course. Each faculty serves as
mentor for approximately 12-15 students and is responsible for looking after the
academic and personal growth of the prodigy. During this process thefacultymember
is responsible for guiding and imparting academic, personal counseling as and when
necessary.
Mentoring is a unique platform which helps in communicating students’ achievements
and weaknesses to their parents’ at-least once in an academic year. During this
mentor-student-parent meet, most of the issues relevant to evaluation outcomes are
discussed one to one with students and accordingly proper guidance is rendered for
further improvement. This initiative has immensely benefitted students and is visible
through increase in attendance and in improved performance in examination.

a. Autonomy to the Investigator: Principal investigator have full freedom to carry
out the research he/she is free to take decision with respect to purchase of
material and implementation of research project as necessary for fruitful
completion of his/her research project.
b. Adequate infrastructure and human resources: The College provides adequate
space and infrastructure for proper implementation of research project. Special
requirements of the projects are supplemented through arrangements of new
research journals, purchase of instruments in addition to that separate
Language Laboratory, Smart Classroom facility and separate computer labs
with internet connection is also established.
c. Time-off, reduced teaching load and special leave: Duty leaves are sanctioned
as necessary for field work, participation in seminars, conferences, workshops,
special summer/winter/training programmes for additional knowledge and
research skills.

with 120 numbers of computers/laptop loaded with data various software,
internet facility, facility for access of online journals through N-LIST-

areas.
e. Timely auditing and submission of utilization certificates: Office staff renders
support for speedy auditing and submission of utilization certificate to the
concerned funding agency.

temper and research culture and aptitude among students?
The college undertakes following various initiatives in developing scientific temper,
research culture and aptitude among students.
Organizing of Annual Seminar: To provide a platform for students to present
their research work. Students prepare their own research paper under the
guidance of faculty members they are allowed to present their papers in
student session and the best presenter is awarded. These research papers are
also published in seminar proceedings published by college.
Participation of students in State and national Level Competitions: Our
students participate in various State and National level Competition.
Involving students in field survey and short project for Strengthening Research
Base of Students: Many of our students take active role in research projects
and field survey conducted by staff members. Students get exposure to field
surveys organized by various sessions. Student’s prepare their research work
and submit it to college and the best team is awarded by college and the
reports are kept in library for further reference.
Organization of intra-collegiate paper presentation competition: This event is
organized to provide opportunity to students to present their papers with
Power Point presentations on any topic of their choice.

BCA students. Research projects are there for M. Com. II, MBA-II, BBA-I, II & III,
BCA-III year students. Also One Minor research project funded by UGC has been
completed by a faculty member. One of our faculty members is recognized research
guides of Solapur University, Solapur. 06 minor research projects are successfully
completed and 04 minor research projects proposals have been sent to UGC for

3.2 RESOURCE MOBILIZATION FOR RESEARCH

Our college management encourages staff to apply for research funding to various
agencies. Most of our faculty members are involved in one or other minor research
project sanctioned from UGC.
The College does not have research center and therefore separate budgetary provision
for research is not made. However the college supports faculty and students who are
involved in research and provides seed money and other monetary support from the
general budget.
3.2.2 Is there a provision in the institution to provide seed money to the faculty
for research? If so, specify the amount disbursed and the percentage of the
faculty that has availed the facility in the last four years?
The College has provision for seed money, faculty members are encouraged to
participate and present research papers in various research training, workshop,
conference, and seminars and their expenditure are reimbursed by the college out of
seed money. Most of the faculties have their own minor research projects sanctioned
by UGC. They manage their research expenditure through their own research fund.

Almost all financial requirement of student research projects such as data collection,
data analysis and instruments are met through college purchases and common
instrumentation facility. Students rarely depend on external source of funding for
completion of their research projects.
3.2.4 How does the various departments/units/staff of the institute interact in
undertaking inter-disciplinary research? Cite examples of successful
endeavors and challenges faced in organizing interdisciplinary research.
The Management wing undertook a Survey titled “How to Go for Logistic
Management of Waste”. The findings of the survey were submitted to the
Commissioner, Solapur Municipal Corporation, for further action.

The College has taken following initiatives to ensure optimal utilization of various
equipments and research facilities by its staff and students.
a. Department Level Facility: The College has provided computer and internet
facility to staff in the cubicles so that they can access online journal database
subscribed by the college. This will give them new insights on the various
research topics and can use research papers for references. They are also
provided with scanner and printer so that they can have printout as and when
necessary.
b. Consultancy and Interdepartmental Research Work: Most of the facility in the
Departments of MBA, BBA and BCA is also shared for interdepartmental
research work.

A Feasibility study was conducted by HNCC- Department of Management Studies
(BBA) for BPCL Petrol Pump within Solapur City (M/s. Naval and Sons). The
objective of this study was to know the customer’s potential, expectation for other
facility at petrol pump and to know the customer’s choice and preference for food
items at food court.
a. The consultancy Service has given by HNCC- Commerce Department to Nuts,
Solapur. Students supported for sales promotion and they got rupees 3000.
b. The consultancy Service has given by HNCC- Commerce Department to Kruti
Infrastructure Ltd, Solapur. Students supported for sales promotion and they

The college Research Committee identifies the need and scope for improving
infrastructural facilities as necessary for routing courses and research work of
various sessions and suggests requirement to the Principal of the college.
The college Management takes appropriate steps through establishment of
such facility either in the form of laboratories (eg. Language lab and purchase
of equipments, giving publicity to new research facility through hosting of
new websites and publication of online newsletter dedicated to such new and
emerging areas (eg. Newsletter of HNCC MBA).
The college takes timely steps in getting permission to run different courses
from affiliating university and other institutions.
Development grants are also utilized for strengthening facility in such centers.
The funds from various research projects are also utilized in purchase of
instruments that are of use in these emerging areas.

Ms. Pragati Chiwadshetti and Ms. Akshara Chintakindi received the first prize in the
research paper presentation competition organized jointly by Solapur University and
Social College. The title of the paper was “A Study of Lessons from Narayan Murthy,

Ms. Jyoti Mhanta and Ms. Sridevi Yemul for received the first prize in the research

The ‘College Industry Association Cell’ and ‘College MoUs Cell’ serves to establish
college-industry interface with a view to provide real life situation environ. One of
our core objectives is ‘to impart knowledge and not merely information and to render
valuable services in the field of education’. These cells function in the following
way…
(a) To organize seminars, lectures, visits, workshops and training programmes
that provides industry orientation.
(b) To establish and invite links with companies that conduct campus placements.

Stated Policy: We are committed to provide consultancy services in academic,
scientific and social sector for our stakeholders using in house expertise.

in provided on the college website. The reputation of well established departments
and faculty and individual contacts and interactions with industrialists, research
students, institutes, alumni, press personnel etc. are enough in getting enquiries for
consultancy in various areas of our expertise.
Departments involved formal and informal in consultancy: Department of MBA,
BBA and BCA have offered formal and informal consultancy to various organizations
of national and state repute.
Research students from this area avail the instrumentation facility from ‘Common

undertaken by BBA Section. (2014)
The consultancy Service has given by HNCC-Management Department (BBA) to Jaju
Brothers, Dealers in dyes, chemical and yarn for conducting a market research on
construction industry. Market Research was conducted through a survey for
construction industry in Solapur city. Total 12 students from BBA I & II were
involved to conduct the survey. Respondents covered for this Market Research are
439.
Feasibility Study of Food Court and general stores at BPCL Petrol Pump within
Solapur City (2014)
A Feasibility study was conducted by HNCC- Department of Management Studies
(BBA) for BPCL Petrol Pump within Solapur City (M/s. Naval and Sons). The
objective of this study was to know the customer’s potential, expectation for other
facility at petrol pump and to know the customer’s choice and preference for food
items at food court.

The consultancy Service has given by HNCC- Commerce Department to Nuts,
Solapur. Students supported sales promotion and marketing through which the college
received Rupees 3000.
The consultancy Service has given by HNCC- Commerce Department to Kruti
Infrastructure Ltd, Solapur. Students supported for sales promotion and marketing
through which the college received Rupees 7500.

The stated policy gives enough freedom to faculty in rendering consultancy services
depending upon his/her level of involvement and use of college infrastructure. Our
resource sharing strategies are 80% (College): 20% (Faculty) if faculty relies mostly
on college infrastructure and knowledge resources and 60% (Faculty): 40% (College)
if faculty used his own resources and knowledge to offer consultancy services.

We solicit the stakeholder perception about based on our performance in academics,
extracurricular, curricular, literary and cultural activities, research, consultancy,

a. Academic Performance: An academic audit of teachers is taken as an indicator
of teaching-learning process in the college along with overall passing
percentage of students at BBA, BCA and MBA level is a primary indicator of
perception for stakeholders about the college. Our students consistently secure
ranks in University merit list.
b. Performance in Extracurricular, Curricular and Associations : The contribution
of college in inculcating lifelong learning through these activities plays a
significant role in molding students’ personality. Our college, since last four
years has shown exemplary performance in all these areas and has been
reflected in a large number awards and recognitions received by our college,
students and staff. Students have won awards on state and national level.
c. Research, Consultancy and Extension: Our department performance in
research is excellent with minor research projects, 100 peer reviewed
publications and various extension activities in various fields. The college
offers consultancy to farmers, GOs, NGOs, industries, individuals, research

renowned industrialists, alumni in getting inputs for curriculum design and
restructure. Our college has established MoU with social, scientific and
industrial organizations which provide scope for campus placement, staff and

conferences, workshops and training programmes.

Planning and organization of extension and outreach activities is mainly entrusted on

facility. Our college has one unit of N.S.S., in which 100 students work as per the
assigned schedule.

04th Dec. 2015, Cleanliness Campaign: To create awareness about
cleanliness, cleanliness campaign was undertaken in college nearby area
Ashok Chowk. 36 NSS student volunteers and 52 NCC cadet have clean
Ashok Chowk area and given message of cleanliness.
05th Dec. 2015, Blood Donation Camp: Blood donation camp was
organized in collaboration with HDFC Bank and Damani Blood Bank,
Solapur. 40 student volunteers and staff have donated blood in this camp.
08th Dec. 2015, Cyber Security: Guest lecture on cyber security was
organized jointly with Solapur Police to observe Raising Day. Police
Inspector Mr. S. G. Bhabure and their team have guided us on cyber
security. They also guide us about what care to be taken while using social
media sites and using online banking etc.
16st Aug. 2014, Health Checkup Camp: Health Checkup Camp for girl
student was organized on 16th Aug. 2014 in collaboration with Family
Planning Association, Solapur. HB test of 159 female students have done
in the camp and free medicine was distributed. 159 female students have
got benefit of this health checkup camp.
Anti Terrorist Movement: As a part of anti terrorist movement and to
create awareness of terrorism and precautions, lecture was organized on
05th Jan. 2015. Team of ATS Solapur was invited for discussion and
answering the questions of student on the topic mentioned.
25th to 31st Jan. 2014, Participated in State Level Camp: State Level Camp
was organized by Vitthalrao Shinde College of Arts, Tembhurni during
25th to 31st Jan. 2014. Four NSS volunteers have been participated in the
camp.

Self Defense Training Work Shop: (03rd to 11th Jan. 2014): Work shop on
‘Self Defense Training’ for female students was organized to build
confidence and to teach basic self defense skills to the girl students. The
work shop included a session on gender sensitization, self defense
techniques, and practical training session on self defense. Trainer Miss.
Swati Birajdar and her colleague taught basic techniques of self defense
like karate, judo, kicks and punch, 62 female students have been trained
under this work shop.
19th Sept. 2013, Health Checkup Camp for Female Students: Free health
checkup camp for female students was organized on 19th Sept. 2013 in
collaboration with Family Planning Association, Solapur. Free physical
check up, counseling and, H. B. was tested in the camp, 125 female
students have been benefited from this camp.
24th Dec. 2013, One Day Workshop on Self Defense Techniques for
Female Students: One day workshop on self defense techniques for female
students was organized by Chatrapati Shivaji Night College of Arts and
Commerce, Solapur to provide theory and practical inputs to girl students
for self defense. 10 NSS volunteers have attended this workshop and
shared their experience in the class.
13 students participated in 2000 Meter Marathon, organized by
Maharashtra AIDS Control Society and NSS Cell Solapur University,
Solapur. One of our students Algi Viresh stood second in boys and Aprna
Khatavkar stood third in girls.

On the occasion of NSS day, 24th September 2012, Blood donation camp

Collaborative Activity with newspaper Daily Sakal: Daily newspaper Sakal has
started an activity called as Young Inspirators’ Network (YIN). The students created
awareness among the public and devotees to adopt eco-friendly measures of disposal
of garland, flowers and other holy offerings (Nirmalya). The students collected the
Nirmalya from the devotees brought during Ganesh Immersion and in a way
contributed to avoid water pollution.
Similarly, during the Gadda Fair, an appeal was made by students to stall owners to
maintain cleanliness. They also collected the garbage and separated it into bio-
gradable and non-degradable wastes and thus contributed to maintain eco-friendly
waste management.
Collaborative Activity with Police Commissionerate, Solapur: Students also
served as ‘Police Mitra’ (Friend of Police) and helped the police department to
maintain law and order during Ganesh Utsav and Eid.
Library for Seniors: Our library facilities have been extended to the parents and
senior citizens in the nearby area.
Collaborative Activity with Lions Club International: One student from our
college Ms. Salma Matin Patel got a scholarship of Rs. 4,000/- from Lions Clubs
International, during the year 2015-16.

Day, every year college organizes tree plantation activity in college premises.

34. Participation in Institutional Social Responsibility (ISR) and Extension

Commerce department of the college undertakes extension activities. NSS and NCC
sections are the pioneers in such activities. Following is the list of such activities
1. Activities of N.S.S. Unit: Organization of Blood Donations Camps, N.S.S. Day
Celebration, Annual N.S.S. Camp, Health Checkup Camp, Cleanliness Drive,
Participation in Republic Day Parade, AIDS Day Awareness and Rally, organization
of Youth Day, Street Shows, Rallies for Save Girl Child Campaign, National Voters
Day Campaign, etc.
Dr. Shivkumar L. Biradar completed 44th Orientation for Programme Officers
of the National Service Scheme held from 16th Aug. 2013 to 22nd Aug. 2013,
at the NSS Empanelled Training Institute Ahmednagar College, Ahmednagar.
04th Dec. 2015, Cleanliness Campaign: To create awareness about cleanliness,
cleanliness campaign was undertaken in college nearby area Ashok Chowk. 36
NSS student volunteers and 52 NCC cadets have cleanedAshok Chowk area
and given message of cleanliness.

05th Dec. 2015, Blood Donation Camp: Blood donation camp was organized in
collaboration with HDFC Bank and Damani Blood Bank, Solapur. 40 student
volunteers and staff have donated blood in this camp.
16st Aug. 2014, Health Checkup Camp:Health Checkup Camp for girl student
was organized on 16th Aug. 2014 in collaboration with Family Planning
Association, Solapur. HB test of 159 female students have done in the camp
and free medicine was distributed. 159 female students have got benefit of
this health checkup camp.
Anti-Terrorist Movement: As a part of anti-terrorist movement and to create
awareness of terrorism and precautions, lecture was organized on 05th Jan.
2015. Team of ATS Solapur was invited for discussion and answering the
questions of student on the topic mentioned.
25th to 31st Jan. 2014, Participated in State Level Camp: State Level Camp was
organized by Vitthalrao Shinde College of Arts, Tembhurni during 25th to 31st
Jan. 2014. Four NSS volunteers have been participated in the camp.

19th Sept. 2013, Health Checkup Camp for Girl Students: Free health checkup
camp for female students was organized on 19th Sept. 2013 in collaboration
with Family Planning Association, Solapur. Free physical check up,
counseling and, H. B. was tested in the camp, 125 female students have been
benefited from this camp.
24th Dec. 2013, One Day Workshop on Self Defense Techniques for Female
Students: One day workshop on self defense techniques for female students
was organized by Chatrapati Shivaji Night College of Arts and Commerce,
Solapur to provide theory and practical inputs to girl students for self-defense.
10 NSS volunteers have attended this workshop and shared their experience in
the class.

13 students participated in 2000 Meter Marathon, organized by Maharashtra
AIDS Control Society and NSS Cell Solapur University, Solapur. One of our
students Algi Viresh stood second in boys and Aparna Khatavkar stood third
in girls.
Volunteers participated in the different rallies organized by different voluntary
organizations to observe World Population day, World AIDS day, National
Voters Day etc.
On the occasion of NSS day, 24th September 2012, Blood donation camp was
organized in collaboration with Damani Blood Bank, Solapur. 64 volunteers
donated blood in this camp.
04 Volunteers participated in the State Level Camp on Disaster Management
organized by Solapur University, Solapur.
30 Students volunteers worked as ‘Special Police Officer’ for the election duty
of Solapur Municipal Corporation, Solapur.
Guest lectures and door to door counseling were undertaken during NSS
Camp on following topics
a. Water Conservation
b. Save electricity c. Gandhian Philosophy and Dispute Free Village (Tanta Mukta Abhiyaan)
d. Village Cleanliness Drive Collaborative Extention Activity with newspaper Daily Sakal: Daily newspaper
Sakal has started an activity called as Young Inspirators’ Network (YIN). The
students created awareness among the public and devotees to adopt eco-friendly
measures of disposal of garland, flowers and other holy offerings (Nirmalya). The
students collected the Nirmalya from the devotees brought during Ganesh Immersion
and in a way contributed to avoid water pollution.
Similarly, during the Gadda Fair, an appeal was made by students to stall owners to
maintain cleanliness. They also collected the garbage and separated it into bio-
gradable and non-degradable wastes and thus contributed to maintain eco-friendly
waste management.
Collaborative Extention Activity with Police Commissionerate, Solapur: Students
also served as ‘Police Mitra’ (Friend of Police) and helped the police department to
maintain law and order during Ganesh Utsav and Eid.

Library for Seniors: Our library facilities have been extended to the parents and
senior citizens in the nearby area.
Collaborative Activity with Lions Club Solapur: Blood donation camps were
organized in collaboration with Lions Club of Solapur.
Voter awareness programme was orgnised jointly with Lions Club, in which the Chief
Guest Dr. Venkatesh Metan gave oath to the students about voting. He explained
importance of voting to the students.

POST-ACCREDITATION INITIATIVES
Continuous quality sustenance and enhancement are two of the major goals of the NAAC. Our College has gone through two cycles of accreditation and is currently rated with ‘A’ Grade by NAAC. During the last five years after reaccreditation, our college has taken numerous inititatives for achieving desired quality and accountability in our activities. Some of the major initiatives in this direction are summarized below-

Enhancing Staff Involvement in Design and Development of University Curricula
More than 20% of our faculty participate in design and development of curricula as members and Chairman in BOS.
Involvement of stakeholders in upgradation of Curricula
Well known industrialists from region were involved with IQAC Unit for Academia-Industry Collaboration. Suggestions received from Alumni, Students Parents, Industry Representatives are informed to the BOS members for consideration while redesigning the curricula
Use of ICT in Teaching Learning Process
The College has purchased new projectors for Smart Classrooms, legal softwares, Television Sets, Video conferencing, developed e-content for sharing with staff and students, promoting use of N-LIST, INFLIBNET, JGate,EBSCO etc.
Extention of Mentoring Scheme to UG level
A mentor is appointed for Meritorious students of UG level and guidance regarding all sorts of problems is provided.Considering the large number of students of UG level, it is impractical to implement the scheme for all students, Hence, only Meritorious students are selected.
Introduction of TS-SAF and Earn while Learn Scheme.
College took steps to introduce these schemes to support educational needs of poor and needy students. More than 50 students were benefitted under this scheme.
Bicycles for Girl Students
Under this scheme poor and needy girl students who are unable to pay for bus charges were offered with bicycles. Girl students availed this scheme for successful completion of their education.
Bridge Course Bridge courses were initiated for students failing to score higher percentages in examinations. Small duration courses to bridge the gap between academic and industry are initiated to increase student employibility.
Campus Security Close Circuit Cameras are installed for overall security within campus. 24 hour Security Guards work in shifts for Campus security and Appropriate fencing is provided.

introduced new schemes for UPSC, MPSC, SET, NET and other examination. Placement cell is functioning through networking with various companies and organizations for student placements.
Introduction of New COCs
04 Career Oriented Certificate Courses are introduced.
Increased Research Output
9 Minor (Rs. 6,82,000=00) Projects from UGC are in process / completed successfully. Faculty Members completing Ph.D. has increased in the period and many are undergoing research from the same perspective.
Produced high impact factor Publications
Faculty Members have published papers with good Citations and Impact Factor in various Journals.
Infrastructure Development

Infrastructure Maintenance
College has invested heavy amounts for improvement and establishment of new infrastructure.
New Boy’s Hostel and Guest House
Management has provided a new Boy’s Hostel to accommodate more number of students.

Our alumni have contributed in material and in knowledge terms to the students. Feedback on college and curriculum was obtained from alumni.

Tally, Personality Development, Handwriting development courses have been introduced by the college. Also professional certification coruses of NCFM and Microsoft have been offered in collaboration with Professional Institutes.

4 Mentor Ward system may be extended to all
The mentor Ward system has been effectively made functional at UG level with continutity in PG level. Consultancy in the form of Product promotions, market surveys, data analysis have been undertaken and industry has benefitted with these consulatancy initiatives. Students are involved in these activities under the guidance of respective faculty member.
6 College may develop linkage with institution of repute for academic excellence.
The college has signed MoU with various professional institutes and Colleges and number of interactive sessions are organised for giving inputs to the students. Eminent industrialists, professionals and academicians are invited to share their expertise through guest lecture and key speaker sessions.
7 Use of ICT may be enhanced and internet facility may be

provided to all learning process. Leased line internet connectivity of 4 MBPS is spread across the campus for use by everyone. Wi-Fi facility is made available in hostel premises 24 X 7.
8 College may initiate steps to get recognition as Research Centre.
Considering the increase of Research work, publications and Doctorals by Faculty members, the college has supportive environment for establishing Research Centre. The college proposes to apply for same whenever the University begins allocation of Research centres.
9 Faculty may apply for more research projects from different funding agencies and enhance their research output
Various minor projects, sanctioned in the previous Accredition period, have been completed and submitted in this period and some of the faculty members have received sanction in this period.
10 The college may develop MIS to collect, integrate and analyse data
CMS software for Accounting aqnd Student Management, LIBMAN for Library, LANTIV for Time Table and Faculty Work Load Distribution and SPSS for Research Data Analysis Work have been effectively fucnctional in the college. Excel Designed Attendance Maintainance System and Exam Result Analysis System has been developed inhouse.
11 Certificate courses in foreign languages may be introduced to create better scope for employment.
The college offers French language as optional subject at Junior college Level. The college proposes to extend the same to UG and PG level in the near future.
12 More students may be encouraged to participate in games and sports activities and gym facilities may be provided
Substantial participation with impressive results at University, State, National and International level Sports events can be seen in the period under review. College has provided Two Gyms – One each for Boys and Girls which are effectively operative and used by the students extensively.
