I am six months in to my new job as the President of the Rowlett Chamber of Commerce and what a fast paced job it is. We are a staff of three that consists of Carol Prano, Mem- bership Services Director, Louise Brown, Communications Director and myself. It has amazed me at what we are able to accomplish. That being said, there is no way we could pull it off without our countless volunteers. In the past six months we have had an Awards Gala, A Golf Classic, Multi Chamber Mixer, Taste & Trade of Rowlett and six Friday Night Lives. There is still much work to be done. In the next six months we will have The Rowlett Stampede Casino, Job Fair, Health Fair and the Annual Awards Gala. In addition to these events we have our regular programs that consist of the monthly luncheon, Make a Connection, ribbon cuttings, business of the month presentations, business bites and a host of other specialized partnership events. As I mentioned, we are moving at a fast pace. These are special times in Rowlett with the opening of the Eastern Extension of the President George Bush Turnpike next month. We understand the significance of this project and what it means for our business owners that have already decided on Rowlett as the place to do business. The Rowlett Chamber of Commerce is at the heart of this future going forward and we could not be more ex- cited. The Rowlett Stampede Casino is a 22 year old tradition and will kick off the celebrations for the transfor- mation of Rowlett from a bedroom community to a bright shining star in the East. Plan to be a part of it Decem- ber 2 nd at the Hella Temple on 2121 Rowlett Road. The Stampede starts at 6:00 pm and will end at 11:00. This will be a signature event like no other. Thank you to Lake Pointe Medical Center for underwriting the event and The Mitchell Law Firm for being a Jackpot Sponsor and making it possible. There is no limit to what we can and will do together.
