Both Mann Page and Thomas Jefferson were close friends and Thomas Jefferson spent a great deal of time at this estate discussing politics with his close friend. Gloucester rumor has it that the Declaration of Independence had it's first rough draft created here. Though today the house is in ruins, The legacies of those who entered it's doors continue to live on throughout Virginia and the United States.
