HARROGATE Originally named the Queen’s Head or The Queen Hotel, we are the oldest hotel in Harrogate and date from 1671. Visitors began arriving in Harrogate after 1571, when William Slingsby discovered the ‘Tewit Well’. A second spring, the so-called ‘Sweet Spa’ was discovered by Michael Stanhope in 1631.
