What is Report?

Report means a text which describe things in general;

Report is a text which present information about something, as it is. It is as a result of systematic observation and analyses.

What is Function of Report Text?

• To describe the way things, with reference to arrange or natural, manmade and social phenomena in our environment

• To inform • To provide information about natural and non-natural

phenomena • To document, organize and store factual information on

a topic, classify and describe the phenomena of our world, about a whole class of things, [not about] one specific thing, about living things like plants and animals, and non-living things like phones, bikes, or oceans.

Grammar Patterns Report

• Use of general nouns, eg hunting dogs, rather than particular nouns, eg our dog;

• Use of relating verbs to describe features, eg Molecules are tiny particles;

• Some use of action verbs when describing behaviour, eg Emus cannot fly;

• Use of timeless present tense to indicate usualness, eg Tropical cyclones always begin over the sea;

• Use of technical terms, eg Isobars are lines drawn on a weather map;

• Paragraphs with topic sentences to organise bundles of information; repeated naming of the topic as the beginning focus of the clause.

General Structure

• General ClassificationIntroduce the topic of the report such as the class or subclass. Stating classification of general aspect of thing; animal, public place, plant, etc which will be discussed in general

• IdentificationGive the share/form, parts, behavior. habitat, way of survival. Describing the thing which will be discussed in detail; part per part , customs or deed for living creature and usage for materials

The Camel

The camel is a large, strong desert animal. Camels can travel great distances across hot, dry deserts with little food or water. They walk easily on soft sand and carry people and heavy hump. The hump is a large lump of fat providing energy if food is hard to find.

There are two chief kinds of camels: (1) the Arabian camel also loads to places that have no roads. Camels also serve the people of the desert in many other ways.

The camel carries its own built-in food supply on its back in the form of a called dromedary, which has one hump, and (2) Bactrian camel, which has two humps.

CAT

Cat is one of carnivore. It is vertebrate animal, class mammal, and in scientist name called by Felix catus. It is viviparous and can birth 2-5 young in once birth process. Talking about cat, it can be refers to tiger, lion, cheetah and leopard. To distinguish it from other felines and felids, is a small furry domesticated carnivore mammal that is valued by humans for its companionship and for its ability to hunt vermin and household pests. Cats have been associated with humans for at least 9,500 years, and are currently the most popular pet in the world. Owing to their close association with humans, cats are now found almost everywhere on Earth.

Cat is a cute and friendly animal. But even like that it can be nimble when facing its prey. It has soft fur and various colors like white, yellowish, dark black and black-white spot. The kitty can be 15 cm and the female/male can be 30 cm. Its small head, moustache, and tail complete its cute body. Sharp teeth in its month and claws in its legs have function to bit, chop, and catch of their prey. The small ears can hear a small voice like step of small one. The eyes also like human eyes, like when in dark condition the pupil (black part) of eyes become large and on the contrary. And the flat nose can smell the location of their prey.

Fish is favorite food of cats, but when climbing a tree it catches the butterfly and lizard to eat. They like to play on an open field and sleep all day if there is no food. When it’s happy they fight but they won’t hurt each other.

Cat has loyal enemy namely mouse. In TOM & JERRY film they never become a friend. Mouse also can become its prey. In some countries cat is sacred animals. The people believe that cat has 7-9 soul. This flat-nose can be a keeper of a house.
