Cross-Country

Congratulations to River Whitebear

who ran in the senior district cross

country meet Wednesday, October 2nd

in Rocanville. River placed in the top 10

in his age category and advanced to

Provincials in Prince Albert!! Way to go River!

JUNIOR BOYS:

Congratulations to the jr. boys volley-

ball team on a terrific season. The im-

provements this team made in the

last two months were astonishing, as

they went from barely being able to

pass a volleyball to within two points

of a division championship. This truly

was a result of their hard work and

dedication, as well as their willingness

to listen and work together as a team.

Although the loss was tough, you

should be very proud of how you

represented Wawota School, boys.

— Coach, Riley Riddell.

VolleyBALL

ROOKIE GIRLS: Rookie Girls Volleyball Team ended their season with a fun game against the the Junior Girls team. Both teams put up a great fight and showed growth and skill. We had a great group of girls come out, work hard, and play hard! Can't wait to see what the future has in store for this athletic group of young ladies.

From the Desk of Mrs. Van Winkoop….

Please remember to phone the school is your child is going to be absent or late for any reason. We do have

an answering machine to receive calls after school hours (306) 739-2323. Also, don’t forget to let your bus

driver know if your child will not be on the bus.

Please make all cheques payable to Wawota School unless otherwise stated.

Please check the lost and found when you are at the school or remind your child to check often. We have

two located in the school – one is under the benches at the front entrance of the school and the other is in

the elementary porch. We accumulate a number of items each day so please look regularly.

In an effort to increase communication with parents, we have created a Wawota Parkland School Face-

book page. Please like our page and check for daily reminders and updates. We also have a parent email

list and if you are not receiving school info emails please let me know.

Carol Day

The student council has been busy building school spirit this fall. We are still operating with six colour teams trying to earn points for their team by participating in spirit days. This Halloween we hosted our first noon

hour dance for grade 1-6, it was a big hit. We also started birthday cupcakes this year. At the end of each month students who celebrated their birthday receive a cup-

cake and birthday greeting on behalf of the Student Council. By the end of June all students will receive their own cupcake. December brings lots of fun events: dress up days every Friday, spirit week, food drive, name that carol challenge and our annual pancake breakfast.

Purdys Chocolate Fundraiser – we sold $5912.98 in chocolates. We will see our profit cheque in a few weeks. We earn at least 25% of our total sales and hopefully a bit more because we broke the $5000 mark. We also purchased a basket from Purdys to raffle off at the Christmas Concert so stay tuned for that as well. They SLC hopes to use that money to purchase something that will benefit the en-tire student body. Pick up of items is scheduled for December 6
