Summer Village of Norglenwold Public Works Request for Decision Agenda Item: Tree Removal at 157 Grand Ave Background: Russel Koehler has contacted Administration requesting that the trees and shrubs on the north side of the road at 157 Grand Ave be removed for increased visibility and the safety of pedestrians walking along the road. Council requested that the home owner at 157 Grand Ave be contacted. A letter was sent to the homeowner and Administration has received no response. Options for Consideration: 1. Direct Administration to remove the trees and shrubs on the north side of the road at 157 Grand Ave. 2. Continue to maintain the ditches in their current condition. Administrative Recommendations: That Council move to have Administration cut back the trees and shrubs from the north side of the road at 157 Grand Ave. Authorities: MDP 10.0 Roads and Utilities Infrastructure The roads and utilities infrastructure goals are: 1. To provide for the safe and efficient movement of people and goods.

Summer Village of Norglenwold Public Works Information Item Agenda Item: Public Works Report Background: The following will update council on public works projects and programs: - Yard waste bin comparision: 2017 - 18,607 lbs removed, $345/load, 8 Loads, Total Cost $2,760 2018 - 19,059 lbs removed, $365/load, 10 Loads, Total Cost $3,650 - Patching and milling has been completed in Rustic Crescent. Oiling and asphalt overlay should be complete July 24 and July 25, weather permitting. An email blast was sent out to residents and info was posted on the website. - During the milling process in Rustic Crescent one of the machinery operators for Border Paving left a small rut on the road allowance where the resident at 31 Rustic Crescent had just laid sod. The resident was unhappy, so Administration agreed to have the sod fixed by the Summer Village. Background: Administration has received a request for support from the Sylvan Lake & District Victim Services Golf Tournament through either sponsorship or a donation.
$1,000.00 has been allocated in the 2018 Budget for donations to other organizations.
In 2017 Council provided a donation of $200.00 to the Sylvan Lake & District Victim Services Golf Tournament.
Options for Consideration: 1. That Council accept as information. 2. That Council provide a donation through sponship or donation. 3. That Council sponsor a team to play in the tournament.

Background: Administration has received information on potential opportunities for municipal officials and representatives to meet with the Minister of Muncipal Affairs at the 2018 Alberta Urban Municipalities Assocation fall convention.
Should Council wish to schedule a meeting with Minister Anderson, the deadline to submit the request is Monday, July 30 and must specify two or three topics or policies for discussion.
