The Ministry of Tourism, Government of India extended full hospitality to them, who were sent to visit the Islands by India Tourism Paris Office. Similarly, another team of travel Journalists, Mr. Promoting Andaman Tourism-travel journalists from Spain & Italy visit Isles Lucio Rossi and Mr. Marco Santini who came from Milan, Italy, were sent by India Tourism, Milan Office. They were on tour to the Islands from Feb.17 to 22, 2018. During their stay, they visited various places at Port Blair, Feb.24 The Ministry of Textiles, Govt. of India is organizing Hastakala Sahyog Shivir throughout the country, which commenced on the 19th February, 2018. A similar camp was held in the auditorium of Tagore Government College of Education here recently, in which the Deputy Commissioner, South Andaman District, Shri Udit Hastakala Sahyog Shivir held Need for increasing production of local handicrafts highlighted Prakash Rai was the chief guest. In his brief address, the chief guest said that handicraft sector has not been exploited on a large scale in the Islands. With the increasing number of tourists, both foreign and domestic, the demand for local handicraft is increasing and therefore increase in production of local handicraft is required, he said, and suggested that such camps should also be organized in remote areas like Ferrargunj, Diglipur etc. for the benefit of artisans of those areas. Aruna Budda Reddy became
the first Indian gymnast to clinch
an individual medal at the
Gymnastics World Cup in
Melbourne by securing bronze
in the women's vault. Reddy, 22,
scored 13.649 to finish behind
gold medallist Tjasa Kysslef of
Slovania and Emily Whitehead
of Australia who took silver. The
other Indian woman in
contention, Pranati Nayak
finished sixth with a score of
13.416.
Reddy is a former black belt and
Karate trainer. In 2005, Reddy
won her first National medal
which convinced her to take up
the sport. Reddy finished 14th at
the qualification round of the Vault
apparatus at the 2014
Commonwealth Games and
went one up with a ninth-place
finish at the Asian Games. Also,
at the 2017 Asian
Championships, Aruna finished
on 6th position on Vault.

expedited under intimation of the Member of Parliament,

Later in the evening, the UT Level meeting of MPLAD
projects was also held under the Chairmanship of the
Chief Secretary. The Deputy Commissioner, South
Andaman furnished the physical and financial status of
MPLAD works through power point presentation. After
detailed discussion, it was decided that all the MPLAD
works should the awarded trough e-tendering process.
The Chief Secretary directed both the Deputy
Commissioners to monitor the MPLAD works to avoid
delay in completion. Further, the DCSA has been asked
to ensure the release of outstanding MPLAD fund i.e.
the 2nd installment of 2016-17, 1st and 2nd installment
of 2017-18 and 1st installment of 2018-19, a
communication from the Office of the MP said.

It is brought to the notice of all concerned that the Joint Secretary & OSD
(NEET), Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), Delhi vide
Notification dated 11.01.2018 informed that the CBSE will conduct National
Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) 2018 on 6th May 2018 (Sunday) for the admission in MBBS/BDS courses for all the seat throughout the country
except for AIIMS & JIPMER, Puducherry. The JS & OSD (NEET) further requested that the date of conduct of NEET 2018 may be communicated to all
organizations conducting various public examinations so that the dates fixed by the organizations do not clash with the date of NEET 2018.
Hence, it is requested to all the organizations not to conduct any other examination on the above mentioned date i.e. 06.05.2018 in order to avoid
clash with the date of NEET 2018.
It is further brought to the notice of all concerned that the Ministry of AYUSH, New Delhi vide letter dated 23.01.2018 requested all the State
Governments to admit students in AYUSH under Graduate Courses from the Academic Year 2018-19 through the merit list of National eligibility cum
Entrance Test (NEET) only. The Ministry further informed that from the
Academic Year 2018-19, all UG seats of AYUSH degrees namely BAMS,
BHMS, BUMS, BSMS and BNYS shall be filled by considering the merit list of National eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) only.
Hence, the allotment of Central Pool BAMS & BHMS seats reserved at
mainland institutions for the students of Andaman & Nicobar Islands shall be allotted through the merit list of National Eligibility cum Entrance Test
(NEET) only from the Academic Year 2018-19. The interested candidates are requested to appear in the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test for
allotment of Central Pool BAMS & BHMS seats.
