Number of schools by locationOverall, 58 per cent of schools are located in the Greater Melbourne Area and 42 per cent in rural and regional Victoria.

There is a relatively high proportion of schools, particularly primary schools, in rural and regional areas.

This increase is in the context of significant growth in school enrolments in Victoria in recent years.
