Upbeat Adults Referral Form over leaf!

Upbeat FamiliesFun physical activities and healthy lifestyles for overweight children and their families.

Ten-week clubs run in schools at 4pm on weekdays and in Leisure Centres on Saturdays.

Any children/young people who are overweight or have issues regarding their weight may attend. All family members are welcome! As the scheme runs as a whole family approach, at least one adult must attend with the child.

Upbeat MumsSafe and specific exercise and healthy weight for pregnant and post-natal women.

We offer a friendly, supportive environment and work together with midwives to offer safe and effective exercise and healthy eating programmes that are specifically designed for pregnant and post-natal women.

How to Join - Ask your Midwife or Health Visitor to refer you.

How much does it cost?All Upbeat schemes are free of charge for the first ten weeks. This includes Free Gym, Swimming and Fitness classes at Calderdale Council’s Leisure Facilities. After ten weeks, these activities are available at a reduced cost for 2 years.

What is Upbeat?Upbeat is a referral scheme that offers physical activities and healthy weight courses that are specifically designed for certain groups of people.

We Aim To:> Encourage and promote long-term participation in regular physical

activity by introducing people to physical activity and exercise through a structured programme that is safe and suitable for their needs.

> Improve overall physical and emotional well-being of people who would not normally take part in physical activity.

> Encourage people to eat healthier and help people to lose weight healthily.

Upbeat AdultsSafe and specific exercise and healthy weight loss for Adults.

Ten-week courses run in Leisure Centres and Community Halls across Calderdale. You can view the timetable on our website.

After ten weeks you automatically qualify for the Next Steps Scheme in which you can enjoy Gentle Exercise, Tai Chi, Fitness Circuits, Aerobics, Zumba, Aquafit, Spinning, Boxercise, Walking Club, Social Events and much more!

Certain Eligibility Criteria apply. To qualify you must have any of the following:> Overweight with a BMI (Body Mass Index) over 30. > Diabetes> Angina> High Blood Pressure> Coronary Heart Disease (CHD)> Cardiovascular Disease. (CVD)> Had a Stroke / TIA
