Dear Mr. Morrow:
Per your request, MACTEC Engineering and Consulting has evaluated the chemical dat a for th e wate r sampl e collecte d i n Octobe r 200 8 from th e residenc e i n Wilmington unde r Olin' s residentia l wel l samplin g program . Thi s evaluatio n wa s performed t o confir m th e suitabilit y o f drinkin g wate r a t th e residentia l property . Chemical concentration s i n the wel l water were compare d t o Massachusetts an d federa l drinking water standards and guidelines.
Attached i s a table summarizin g wel l monitorin g dat a fo r th e residence . Th e table list s al l detecte d analyte s an d thei r associate d concentrations . Th e appropriat e standard and/or guideline for each parameter is provided for comparison .
The reporte d concentratio n fo r sodiu m (2 2 mg/liter ) i s above th e concentratio n o f 2 0 mg/liter recommended i n the Massachusetts Drinking Water Guidelines (ORSG) . Ther e is no federal drinkin g water standard for sodium. Th e ORSG guideline was published so that public wate r supplie s coul d notif y peopl e on sal t restiicted diet s that the water i s a source o f sodiizm . Resident s o n sal t restricte d diet s shoul d b e awar e o f th e sodiiun content of the water. Elevated sodium concentration s are common i n grotmdwater i n the Wilmington area due to road salting practices.

WATER, 1625M , NDMA Sample(s): 1 , 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 As discussed, the associated laboratory contro l sample had a low recovery (70%) . The samples were re-extracted outside recommended holdin g times fo r confirmation. Bot h sets of results for these samples hav e been reported.
Sample(s): 1 , 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 The laboratory contro l samples (associated with the re-extraction) ha d low interna l standard recoveries (23% & 20%). Generally , data quality i s not considered affecte d if the intemal standard signal-to-noise rati o is greater than 10:1 , which is achieved for al l internal standards i n the laboratory contro l samples. Ther e should be no impact on the data.
There were no other anomalies associated with this project .
