WHAT RESULTS HAVE BEEN ACHIEVED?
At least 16 women were elected in the September 20,2011 of the 70 we supported through the provision ofbicycles for their campaigns, financial support fortheir campaign materials among others. This is aplus to us as most women were winning in anti-female wards.
Political Parties have began moving towardsimplementing some of the resolutions we weresubmitting and making together with other stake
holders. A vivid example is that of the PF regime that has
taken centre stage in appointing women.

IMPACT (BASED ON THE SADC PROTOCOLTARGETS)
The Zambia National Lobby group continues to lobbygovernment to domesticate the SADC protocol on genderand development.
Following the pressure we have continued to mount andlobby government leaders to consider empoweringwomen with positions of decision making PresidentMichael Sata has shown commitment to this call byappointing the first female Inspector General of PoliceStella Libongani. And suffice to note that my team in theprovince engaged the ministry of Education at provinciallevel to relook at their promotions which has produced
good fruit. We are proud to note that all the schools in thearea are gender sensitive, if the head is a woman thedeputy is a man and vice-versa.

Ensure that all committees formed by the council such asRDCs meet the 50/50 campaign and enhance maleinvolvement in the empowerment of women as thecampaign was recently launched by the Zambia NationalWomens Lobby in Central Province.
