For more than 20 years, Ready Readers has promoted early literacy in St. Louis’ underserved preschools. Currently, 500 trained Ready Reader volunteers read aloud to 10,000 preschool children every week. In addition, six times per year, our Readers give each child in the program a high-quality, new book to take home and keep. The Story of Ready Readers®

Research shows that access to high-quality books, as well as hearing books being read aloud, builds a strong foundation for a young child’s future success in school. For more than 20 years, Ready Readers has promoted early literacy in St. Louis’ underserved preschools. Currently, 500 trained Ready Reader volunteers read aloud to 10,000 preschool children every week.
