Elements in Coal

• Carbon - 30% to 60% of the substance.

• Hydrogen - 1% to 3%

• Sulfur - 0.3% to 3%.

• Nitrogen - 1% to 2%

• Oxygen - 5 % to 12%.

• The exact amounts of each element depends on the type and rank of coal, how the coal was formed millions of years ago and the location or mines from which the coal is sourced.

C - C + O=O O=C=O

Energy required to break bond:

83 kcal/mole + 119 kcal/mole = 202 kcal/mole

Energy Released:

2 x 177 kcal/mole = 354 kcal/mole

net release = 152 kcal/mole of carbon

Thus 12 g of carbon yields 152 kcal of energy provided sufficient oxygen is available for complete combustion.

1 kg of carbon therefore gives approximately 11,000 kcal

152 kcal

12gx 1000 g = 12666 kcal

As coal contains other ingredients , it works out that the actual yield of 1 kg of coal is only about 700 kcal.When ARC Energy CCEC is used it can be increase to 770 to 900 kcal

Application & Dosage

• It is mixed with coal, in normal dosage of 1 kg of additive for every 4000 kg of coal.

• Depending on GCV of coal use size of pulverized coal and reduced air inflow, ARC Energy CCEC additive quantity will differ to get maximum out put.

• Reduction in coal usage: from 199 tons/day to 177: 11.0%

• Reduction in CO: from 993 ppm to 632 ppm: 36.4%

• Reduction in SOx: from 987 ppm to 378 ppm: 61.7%

• Reduction in NOx: from 944 ppm to 254 ppm: 73.1%
