The first RMS Spirit Day – there will be three more held this year – was meant to help students and teachers come together to create interesting, colorful designs and decorations to show a love of school spirit and the Patriots. The goal, according to Principal Charlene Charrette, was to have an event where staff and students build camaraderie while expressing their creativity through slideshows, streamers, music, etc. The idea was brought up when the staff was talking about having an exciting event where the students could be more involved, Mrs. Charrette said. Spirit Day: It was a day of a little competition and a lot of fun. The first
RMS Spirit Day – there will be three more held this year – was meant to help
students and teachers come together to create interesting, colorful designs and
decorations to show a love of school spirit and the Patriots.
The goal, according to Principal Charlene Charrette, was to have an event
where staff and students build camaraderie while expressing their creativity
through slideshows, streamers, music, etc. The idea was brought up when the
staff was talking about having an exciting event where the students could be

great decision on everyone’s part.
It was different than anything this school has done because of the
competition aspect. Each pod was given a rubric in which they would be graded
on criteria like visual representation, decorations, and content connections. Also,
who could forget team spirit?

The RMS Climate Club is off to a successful
start this year! The club, which focuses on anti-
bullying initiatives and building an inclusive school
community, started its year by attending a field trip
in Boston called the Online4GoodAcademy. The
“Academy” was held late September at the WGBH
news station in Boston.
Who went: Mrs.Flannery, Maggie Day,
Madison Ingargiola, Hailey Banville, and Ashtyn
Bringardner.
What is Online4GoodAcademy: A conference
for how to use social media for good. We devel-
oped our own campaign of #CliqueDelete where
we will be raising awareness online for tolerance
and inclusivity.
Why: To find ways to use social media for good
things rather that bad, and to raise awareness for
positive social change.
#CliqueDelete Action Plan: We plan to do
weekly podcasts and are making an Instagram with
our hashtag. We want to make a web site featuring
all of the activities we have going on. These tools
will be utilized to promote our campaign of social
awareness of the need for tolerance and inclusivity. From left, Maddison Ingargiola, Ashtyn Bringardener, Mrs.

Every pod
ended up
doing an
amazing job,
but there had
to be one
winner,
which was
the 6th grade Stars Team.
We are all excited for the next event
like this. It will be a holiday/winter-themed
door decorating contest to be judged next
month, and all are going to make it a tough
choice for Mrs. Charrette and Mr. McKnight.
This was an amazing experience for all of us.
We can’t wait to show our creativity and abil-
ities in the next event!

Mr. Paul McKnight, who joined us this school
year, is Raynham Middle School’s newest vice prin-
cipal. He has already participated in a multitude of
school activities like the annual coat drive and our
first RMS Spirit Day.
We see Mr. McKnight almost every day dur-
ing lunch because he said he enjoys being able to in-
teract with the student body. He said his favorite part
of the job is walking around the school and visiting
the students in the classrooms. He said he likes to see

“Building Our Kids Success” (BOKS) is a fun
before-school activity offered during various sessions
throughout the school year. It a club sponsored by or
“energized” by Reebok. It was held on Wednesday and
Friday mornings in the RMS gym before school.
The physical activity program had 50 members
and six BOKS trainers: Miss Allen, Miss Canastra, Miss
Driscoll, Mrs. Lally, Mrs. Vassor, and Ms. Leary. In
BOKS, members started out with a warm-up, quick
stretch, a game, and then a cool down.
The session always ended with the presentation
of “The BOKS kid”, someone who tried, worked hard,
and was also encouraging, positive, and determined.
Most of the things done in gym actually come from
BOKS.
Want to sign up? You’re in luck! The next
BOKS program isn’t too far away. Sign up by asking
Miss Driscoll for the registration form or emailing her at
