Question 4 How did you use media technologies in the

construction and research planning and evaluation stages?

Planning

• MICROSOFT WORDAll the notes and ideas from meetings were

recorded electronically. Also used to draft and finalize the script

• FACEBOOKTo contact each other book meetings

and voice ideas e.t.c. or have meeting with whole group via messaging.

• IMOVIEThis was used to upload the storyboard and make a

movie to get a vague idea about our short film.

RESEARCH

• SURVEY MONKEYThis enabled us to conduct primary research

regarding our genre, content and conventions for short film.

• GOOGLEA useful search engine used to research posters, and

gain information on conventions, guidelines, bbfc and conduct independent research

• YOUTUBEDisplays many videos of which we chose to select a

few short films made with our genre analyzing the successes and improvements and gained ideas.

• IMDBThis large database displays many trailers and

posters and helped us plan for our ancillary texts.

CONSTRUCTION

SOFTWARES

• FINAL CUT –Amazing software enabled us to edit our film, by inserting

sound clips and adding effects as well as cutting and amending scenes.

• FLASH – This was used to construct our animatic, i.e. edit the cat,

and the production company name.

• LIVETYPE – This was used to make the opening title for our short film

enabling many effects (eerie and disappearing fonts)

EQUIPMENT

DIGITAL EDITING SUITE – The second ancillary text: Radio trailer was recorded, as well as inserting sound clips for our films and making non- diagetic music

TRIPOD and Video CAMERA – The tripod enable us to ensure stillness whilst recording, fixing levels e.t.c and also the camera has special effects fixing white balance changing the colour.

IMAC - The main computer used to upload and construct all of our work

EVALUATION

• BLOGSPOT We had created a blog at the beginning

of the course this was used to upload our work , and keep track in order to review and analyze what have done through out the time in order to evaluate it.

• POWERPOINTTo analyze our information and upload our work. Such as uploading our survey results as well as our critical questions
