ITQ for Accessible IT Practice

Core units• The User Fundamental Unit incorporates portable applications and also
looks at how to effectively use all the accessibility options within a Windows or Mac environment and how to use browser plug-ins to improve an IT user’s browsing experience.
• The Text-to-Speech software Unit will look at a range of free, simple-to-use tools you can use to listen to handouts or other texts. This is a chance to explore ones you may already use, such as DSpeech or Robobraille, or you might have access to commercial versions such as Read Write Gold.
• The Improving Productivity using IT. You’re asked to reflect on all stages of use from planning to use a piece of software for an intended purpose/target audience, to implementing its use then reviewing whether it has been successful and how it has made you or others more productive or efficient.

• Costs vary between £50 to £150 per candidate depending on delivery model you adopt.
• Once your staff are confident in content delivery, assessment and verification you are free to deliver internally using our online resources.
