Q I S S A 2 0 2 0Qissa 2020: Memories with My Heritage

The 15-day-long campaign titled ‘Qissa: Memories with My Heritage’ organized by EPWG, ICOMOS India came to an end on 30th April 2020. Colleagues, friends and heritage enthusiasts from different parts of the world shared close to 300 heritage-related memories through a variety of mediums like photos, sketches,

archival documents, videos, paintings, music clips and doodles.

With this overwhelming response, the campaign has been successful in creating heritage awareness as well as evoking community participation.

The most interesting outcome of this initiative lies in the fact that it brought to sur-face the dynamic nature of ‘memory’ manifested in cultural, social and personal

experiences of diverse identities and across different time periods.

EPWG has attempted to compile the entries received during this campaign to show how different dimensions of heritage like historic buildings, folklore, culinary delights,

archives, texts and social practices all contribute to form ‘cultural memory’.
