BART Project Status
• CTC provided $40 million for the Silicon Valley extension– The first of six awards totaling $240 million
Final Environmental Impact Study to be submitted to FTA in November--record of decision by spring of 2010
• VTA holding community meetings to provide updates on the project
BART Federal Funding
• Need to ensure BART is included in the next Federal Transportation Funding Bill – $750 million in federal dollars expected
• Carl, Mayor Reed and several CEO's meeting with top leaders in Washington DC – Between September 23 and 25.
• The issue of tax deferral of foreign earnings will also be raised.
