measurement and test processes. High flexibility is a major issue within the scope of recording and evaluating quality data. In particular, this flexibility is required in data recording environments that are close to production since the flexibility helps to guide operators through the inspection thoroughly and to detect weaknesses in the process by means of significant graphics and SPC functionalities. By connecting Q-DAS® products to SAP QM, users of both systems are now provided with a complete solution to apply the two products together.

evaluate them directly without SAP QM.
Advantages• SAP QM is the leading system (complete overview)• No mass data storage in SAP QM• Q-DAS® products offer a flexible evaluation in accordance with national and international standards• Application of standardized interfaces (data recording and data management)• Standard software for test planning, data recording and data evaluation
Approach B: Data Storage and Evaluation with Q-DAS® Products and SAP-STIInformation on the approach Even in this case, SAP QM is responsible for test planning and generates inspection lots. O-QIS loads the inspection lot defining how to conduct the test according to SAP specifications on the local recording station. However, O-QIS transfers the original values back to SAP QM as soon as the inspection lot is completed. The original values are thus available for evaluation in the Q-DAS® database and in SAP QM.

Q-ISR
Advantages • SAP QM is the leading system (complete overview)• Q-DAS® products offer a flexible evaluation in accordance with national and international standards• Application of standardized interfaces (data recording and data management)• Standard software for test planning, data recording and data evaluation• Additional evaluation options in SAP QM via SAP STI
Disadvantage• Double data storage of test data (in SAP QM and Q-DAS® software)
Approach C: Data Storage in SAP and Evaluation via SAP STIInformation on the approach The SAP software is once again responsible for test planning and generates inspection lots. O-QIS loads the inspection lot defining how to conduct the test according to SAP specifications on the local recording station. The Q-DAS® database only buffers the test data temporarily until the inspection is completed. O-QIS transfers the original values back to SAP QM as soon as the inspection lot is completed. All test data are deleted from the Q-DAS® database and are only available in SAP QM now.

Q-ISR
Advantages • SAP QM is the leading system (complete overview)• Q-DAS® products offer a flexible evaluation in accordance with national and international standards• Application of standardized interfaces (data recording and data management)
Disadvantages• Mass storage in SAP; Q-DAS database only serves as a temporary data buffer• Evaluation only in SAP QM via STI – number of available options is restricted
SummaryEach approach provides a possible solution for the interaction of Q-DAS products and SAP QM. Moreover, there are even more concepts applied by our customers. You may e.g. integrate further SAP subsystems into the overall concept or transfer compressed statistics to SAP QM. We will be pleased to support you in finding a suitable solution.
