Profile

PVR Marine Equipment Ltd. is a deck machinery

manufacturer supplying deck cranes, winches,hydraulic drives and control systems.

PVR has good co-operations with well experienced

structural design engineers, system engineers in the

related fields in Europe, North America and Asia.

World wide service is available through its distributor

sales and service network.

PVR deck cranes are jointly developed and built by

PVR and its co-operating partner in China.

General Design

There are two series of the PVR deck cranes, The

Diamond and the Gold Series, with the Diamondseries, it is a close-loop drive and the Gold series is an

open loop drive.

The PVR deck cranes are self contained unit with all

the machineries installed within the crane housing. it is

well protected against rain and waves over the ship.

Ladders, platforms, hand rails and walkways are

provided for easy access during maintenance and

inspection of the crane unit.

The sheaves for jib-head, hoisting and luffing wire-

ropes are mounted on top of the crane house. All

sheaves run on maintenance-free ball bearings and

shafts are secured by lock plates.

The cranes are designed to meet the requirements of

the various regulating bodies such as CCS, ABS,

DNV, BV, LR, GL, KR, NK, RINA; thus each crane is

delivered with test certificate issued by the relevant

classification societies.

Main Features

Speed of all the working motion is stepless control

from ZERO to MAXIMUM. The working motions are

capable of operating simultaneously.

The close-loop or open loop hydraulic system is

designed with summation horse-power control of the

pump units according to the demand of flow and pres-

sure of the hoisting, luffing and slewing operation, thus

maximizing the output of the electric motor.

The user-friendly intelligent microprocessor-based

control system PVR-E3000 provides all functions,

controls with monitoring and diagnostic capabilities.

Optimum control of all function, synchronizationcontrol for twin crane operation and power distribution

are achieved.

Pump Units

The pump units are installed in the crane housing.

For close-loop systems:The pumps are driven by electric motor via a

stepping-up splitter gearbox. Each pump unit delivers

pressure oil to the hoisting winch, the luffing winch and

the slewing gears independent of each other.

For open-loop systems:

The pumps are driven directly by electric motor deliv-

ering pressure oil via a multi-section sandwich valve

block to the hoisting winch, the luffing winch and the

slewing gears.

Hoisting Winch

The hoisting winch is mounted in the crane housing. Itis driven by high speed piston motor via a planetary

gear and equipped with a parking brake. Fail safe

service brake can be provided at extra cost.

Luffing Winch

The luffing winch has the same design and construc-

tion as the hoisting winch. It is also installed in the

crane house. The winch unit is equipped with a park-

ing brake. Fail safe service brake can be provided at

extra cost.

Slewing Gear

Two or three slewing gears are mounted on the floor of

the crane. These drive gears are so spaced for better

drive force distribution. Each slewing gear unit

consists of a high speed piston motor and a planetary

gearbox with a drive pinion, the pinion engages with

the internal teeth of the slewing ring which supports

the crane house. Each slewing gear has its own park-

ing brake. Slewing angle indicator can be provided at

extra cost.

Oil Coolers /Heaters

Air-oil coolers are installed to remove heat from the

hydraulic system for hoisting, luffing winch and splitter

gear-box. Heating of the hydraulic oil in cold weather

starting is provided.

Operators Cabin

All the control joy-sticks, load monitoring equipment,

alarms, pressure indicators, signal and warning lights,

emergency stops and buzzer are installed in the cabin.

The cabin is fully air-conditioned and heated providing

a comfortable working space for the operator in hot and

cold climate environment.The cabin is so constructed to provide on excellent view

of the entire working area from the ergonomical seat.
