Grace Abounding
About the Author:
John Bunyan (1628-
1688) was born near
Bedford, England. His
father was a tinkera
mender of pots and other
household utensils. He
and his wife (Margaret
Bentley) had four chil-
dren. He became a popu-
lar lay preacher of the
Puritan faith. The Church
of England opposed his
teaching and he was ar-
rested for his noncon-
formist preaching. He
wrote Grace Abounding
to the Chief of Sinners
(and a portion of The Pil-
grims Progress) while
he was imprisoned. He
eventually became the
leading Puritan clergy-
man of his time.

John Bunyans Autobiography in Modern English
This Pure Gold Classic has been translated from the original
seventeenth century text, and it was
further edited and annotated by L. Edward Hazelbaker. This
important work is an invaluable re-
source for anyone who wants to learn about the author of The
Pilgrims Progress.
First published in 1666, twelve years before the publication of
The Pilgrims Progress, this autobi-ography shows what led to
Bunyans conversion, his struggles to overcome his weaknesses and
fears, his growth into spiritual leadership, and his perseverance
through many trials and persecu-
tions.
Like L. Edward Hazelbakers previous Pure Gold Classic, The
Pilgrims Progress in Modern Eng-lish, this newly updated edition of
Grace Abounding to the Chief of Sinners extends the life of
Bun-
yans writings and makes the authors original work available to
young and old alike in an under-standable form.
Bunyan wrote this work while he was imprisoned for his
non-conformist convictions and ministry.
He rose from a low station in society to become one of Englands
most heralded authors and spiri-
tual leaders. This book gives fresh insights into Bunyans faith
and the experiences that influenced
his writings. faith and the experiences that influenced his

The Wisdom of the Psalms
Charles Spurgeon considered his magnum opus to be his writings
on the Book of
Psalms. These writings are often called The Treasury of David.
Spurgeon worked on
this commentary throughout a great portion of his ministry, and
his wife, Susannah,
said that if he had never written any other work, these writings
would have serves as
a permanent literary memorial to him.
This volume, 1 of 6, contains an exposition of Psalms 1-25.
Spurgeons comment on his book: In these busy days, it would be
greatly to the spiritual profit of Christian men if they were more
familiar with the Book of Psalms, in which they would find a
complete armory for lifes battles, and a perfect supply for
lifes needs. Here we have both delight and usefulness, consolation
and instruction. For every condition
there is a Psalm, suitable and elevating. The Book supplies the
babe in grace with
penitent cries, and the perfected saint with triumphant
songs.
This book will be of great benefit to the reader who is teaching
on the Psalms,
preaching on them, using them for inspiration during quiet
devotions, or studying
them as literature. Spurgeons insight on the Psalms are without
parallel and the reader will be inspired, challenged, uplifted, and
encouraged on every page.

Book 2 of Spurgeons Classic Work on the Psalms
Spurgeon called this work The Treasury of David, and it truly is
a treasure
that is filled with jewels, gems, and nuggets of gold from the
Book of Psalms. In
many ways, this is Spurgeons Magnum Opus. His wife, Susannah,
said that if her husband had never written any other work, his
writings on the Psalms would have
become a permanent literary memorial to him.
This is the second volume in a six-book series. Senior Editor
Beverlee
Chadwick has sensitively updated and revised this Pure Gold
Classic for the modern
reader. As you will see, Spurgeon delighted in his study of the
Psalms, and it was his
desire that readers would search the Psalms further for
themselves.
Reading this book leads one right into the heart of God.

Crimson Streams of His Precious Blood
Spurgeon wrote, Standing at the foot of the Cross, we see head,
hands, feet, and side, all pouring forth crimson streams of
precious blood. It is precious because of its redeeming and atoning
power. By it the sins of Christs people are atoned forthey are
redeemed from under the Law, reconciled to God, and made one with
Him. He goes on to point out that the blood of Jesus is precious in
its purifying
power, its preserving power, its sanctifying influence, and its
overcoming power. He
said, Those who fight with the precious blood of Jesus Christ
fight with a weapon that cannot know defeat. By trusting the power
of Jesus blood, we will always conquer! Spurgeon preached often
about the precious blood of Jesus Christ as the only
way for a sinner to be saved. He proclaimed that the blood of
Jesus was the life of all
vital godliness. The blood of Jesus Christ cleanses us from all
sinpast, present, and futureand it enables us to draw near to God
each day. If youve ever come to the sprinkling blood, youll feel
your need of coming to
it every day. Those who dont desire to wash in it every day have
never washed in it at
all (From Morning by Morning by Charles H. Spurgeon).

The Secret of the Psalms Book 3 of this very popular series by
Charles H. Spurgeon takes a fresh look at
Psalms. Spurgeon loved the Book of Psalms, and this is clearly
revealed in his writ-
ing about them. For example, he wrote the following about Psalm
51: Often I sat down to it, and rose up again without having penned
a line. It is a bush burning
with fire, yet not consumed, and out of it a voice seemed to cry
to me, Draw not nigh hither, put off thy shoes from off thy feet
(Exodus 3:5). More and more is the conviction forced upon my heart
that every man must traverse the territory of the
Psalms himself if he would know what a goodly land they are.
Happy is he who for
himself knows the secret of the Psalms.
Spurgeon on the Psalms, Book 3 will help the reader to discover
some of Gods se-crets that are hidden in the Psalms. The goodly
land of the Psalms is a wonder-ful place to explore. This volume
will instill within the reader a deep sense of spiri-
tual peace and a deeper insight and understanding of the love of
God. The reader
will be encouraged to look to Him for guidance, encouragement,
and an abundance
of everything that is available to us through Jesus Christ.
