My Experience in Choir By Christine Seo
This is my last year of Laguna Road School Chorus and for the two marvelous semesters I have been in this choir, I was truly grateful to be a part of this astonishing group. Dr. Ning is a brilliant director, and I am extremely pleased to work with her. Even though I was the only sixth grader in the entire chorus, I still had entertaining moments with my fellow fourth and fifth grade peers. Continued on Page 3 !
I am thankful for experiencing this opportunity. The events that this choir has attended so far were the choir festival, the baseball game, and an amusing trip to Knott's Berry Farm. The choir festival was held at Fullerton College. It is when groups of choruses come together, sing several songs, and the judges vote the ratings. Fortunately, Laguna Road School Chorus primary and upper graders received a gold rating. The baseball game is less challenging. The entire chorus performs a song, mainly the anthem according to their nation. After, we relax, socialize, and enjoy the breathtaking game. The Knott's Berry Farm trip is a celebration of our hard effort after the festival. Unfortunately, we did not go yet. But we will. This choir has not only taught me terrific music skills, but also focusing skills to improve my academic grades at school. After I graduate this school and move up to Parks Junior High, I will be missing the love, friendship and joy I had with my teacher and peers. Especially all the exciting memories I had through this wonderful journey in choir.
This years 5th grade classrooms sailed into the past making memories to last a lifetime. Life as a sailor in the 1900's was not as easy as some of our 5th graders imagined. In fact, hard work, unwavering discipline, long; cold night-watches, and meals
such as beef stew and mush were common place on board the Pilgrim Ship. Our sailors did not want to come home.....they discovered that life on a ship was not so bad! Yo, ho, a Pilgrim’s life for me!
